1976 Starcraft 16 ft. 55 hp Evinrude

$600 OBO.....
Not clear from the way the ad is written, but it might have a 2nd lower & exhaust tube & transom clamp 'motor' available too for the $600: 'I also have almost another complete motor (except for powerhead) but a short shaft that can be included if the price is right'.

I think the only thing 1976 is the engine, maybe 66... :p

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

I got an email from a guy selling a 1989 SC 18' Mariner, sounds all original with original deck and transom, and he's wanting $2000 for the hull and trailer, or $3500 with a '96 Johnson 110hp VRO and not a penny less. Sounds like he's a boat flipper as well and a mechanic... he said the engine had a blown piston that he replaced. What do y'all think of $2000 for a'89 hull and trailer? Its more then the 70's Mariners for sure... is the newer year worth it?

Is an '89 the V5 hull? Do you have any pics?

It's a 24 year old boat, if it's all original there could be issues, and there will be at some point in the future. Does it come with anything besides a trailer?

As I recall the front seat is straight, vs the curved like the mid 70's. Not as family friendly. 4 or 5 kids sit up front in mine.

Is the 18' going to big enough for you, or are your going to wish you had a 21' in a couple years.

If he's a flipper offer him a trade on your last purchase:becky: $2k might be great if it's really clean.

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

He is going to take some pics and send them to me tomorrow. I'm not sure if its a V5 hull or not, the '90 brochure we have says the dimensions are the same as the earlier Mariners and still rated to 120 HP. I'm guessing it will still need a deck and transom at some point, but I would have to actually see it to know their condition. I'm sure resale should that occur in the future might be slightly more then an older one, but I'm not sure if the insides are the same.

I offered mine as a partial trade... nope :(

NADA shows average retail for a hull at $950, no accessories. Add for trailer and accessories. ?

Don't know if NADA is accurate for boats or not. I use Edmunds for cars, NADA seems high.

If I brought that home I think I would have to live on her

but it has a "boar" on it, sounds risky!

however the boar alone is worth this price

I think it's worth the price to see that boar chasing the seller around the boat. Helps price negotiations too.

I would pay a little extra to see that... bring beer.
