The only thing I see that's a possible problem is the cabin windshield appears to be missing. Not a real biggie, but I look at this Chief as a project. But an oldie, but a goodie for sure.

You'd never find a compatible windshield so it would be a big deal to me if I was planning on keeping the cabin.

Regardless, there's WAY more than $300 worth of stuff there even if the motor turns out to be a dud.

Looks like a Holiday?? It's a half hour from me and I finally have a little money saved up. I was thinking about offering 1200 for it, any thoughts on it's value????

Well, I picked it up today. From what I can tell it has been repainted at one time. All the interior appears to be 100 percent original, the transom and floor are even solid. The guy I bought it from added a swim platform this year but didn't seal the bolts going through the transom. They all appear to be above the waterline so I will pull it off and seal it up with some 5200. It even came with the original starcraft and mercruiser owner manuals, I was super stoked about that. I will start a thread and get some pics up tomorrow. I've been up for about 26 hours so I'm really dragging arse.

I agree if you're going for a factory restore unless you have one made for big $$$. Otherwise 3 pieces of plexi and some aluminum channel, voila - a usable weather-proof cabin.

I called the seller and he confirmed that the windshield is missing in action. The trailer is home made -- converted from a house trailer, which he says is heavy duty.

I may go take a look tomorrow. Really would prefer an SS, but for $300 what have I got lose by take a look....

Make it an SS! As you can see, the consoles on an SS aren't exactly complicated.

They would lend themselves easily to pretty much any three-piece windshield you could find.
