Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

I keep discounting all my wife's negatives, and I think she is almost convinced. She was worried we might not be able to hang with the group if we had the kid. My response was, well we definately wont if we dont go. Then the whole birthday party thing. None of us want to drive all the way out to Clermont to be annoyed by wild kids, not have enough to eat, not have enough to drink, and come home pissed off and worst of all not be on the boat. We only do it for my Dad. He likes to see the whole family together. We blew off the last one because she did the same thing. This is the only obstacle in the way.

Maybe I will just come by myself. LOL.. The only problem is, she drives the tow vehicle. Damnit.

NO boat?!?...don't even bother coming...

JK...Glad you're gonna be there. Crap! We're gonna need username-to-real name name tags!

Check your in-box. We'll be there Friday, early afternoon. Looks like it's gonna be a full boat on the way in. Myself, the Admiral, our son, possibly other son & his girlfriend, Sasto/Kimi, VH, his "Gerogia Peach", and their 2 off spring! (did I forget anyone???)

I might have said it earlier...

IS IT JUNE YET???

Only 20 days till departure!! (just over a week)

There will be 4 more, me, wife and 2 grandsons. Be close to dark probably before we arrive, looking forward to it. Sounds like I need to bring some chairs so we can sit on the dock. :D I feel sure some will be on the dock at times with kids fishing.

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

OK got everyone's PM. Will load them in the phone. Should I put them under usernames or real names??

I hate to admit it, but she is right about the boat. I am not sure we will have the little issues fixed by then and it is a long ride. The carb needs to be rebuilt. It runs fine, but wont idle, so no wake zones pose an issue. Especially with the shift cables binding a bit, taking it in and out of gear a lot to keep no wake could do it in. I just cant bring myself to take the boat down during the summer, so I was hoping to be able to wait til the end of summer. But since we are not using it that weekend, I think I will drop it off and let someone else deal with it. LOL. So WIN WIN. We get to go to St Augustine with you guys and we get the boat fixed in the middle of boating season without interupting our boating.

Nlain...didn't mean to leave you and your grandkids out. I know the 4 of you will be there, I was just referring to the number of people that will be on my tub!! VH, Sasto, and the others mentioned have plans to cruise up to Jax Friday morning and hang with us on the way back to St. Augustine. Should be interesting, to say the least. :)

If you're boat isn't running correctly or ready for a trip, it's best you not bring it. Aside from having difficulties on the ride up, it's a safety issue for you and everyone else on the waterway. Better to get it fixed while you're having fun.

I've got several iboats member's #'s in my cell phone. They are listed "iboats-username-first name" Keeps everyone together in the phonebook that way... List yours however it makes the most sense to you.:p

May have worked out better than you realize. You were hoping for two issues to hold out for the season. Not good. Either one, if not addressed, could have left you and your family stuck on the water. It's always best if you can do your own maintainance. Nobody will put the love into your boat that you will. Given the situation, as long as you trust the people or person doing the work on your boat, this is perfect... "...Win Win":D Not only do you have a great time boatin' and chillin' wit boats, but when that sad time comes when you go home, you can find comfort in going home to a boat with a couple of heavy concerns lifted.:)

Gonna be a great time!!!:D:D:D

Well, last time I was in St Augustine, that wouldn't be a problem. It's been many years, though. Hopefully, St Augustine hasn't become like a lot of Florida has been for many years... You go there expecting to hear Southern Accents,. and you her old ladies and men talking "Brooklyn"!!! I know several people born and raised in various parts of Florida who, to me, sound like they're from the Northern states... Not much of a detectable accent, to me. I'm quite certain that there are indeed, still, "Floridians" with Southern accents. Havn't come across one in a long time...

I'm going to pick up travel folding chairs for "my crew", too.:)
