Re: SPCA kill rate bumming me out...
You know what's worse than hearing it on the news?
Having to werk next door to the local humane society incinerator for 30years... The smell of burning cats/dogs was nauseating, and I lost my breakfast more than once.
It is indeed,sad --
but what is even sadder than that is how some would come in... Starving, half-dead, ate-up with mange, worms, fleas n ticks. Shivvering, sad-eyed critters cast-asside by heartless humans. Often, the alternatives to a painless euthinasia is unimaginable suffering.
And that only after being given one last chance for a happy new home.
Support them, man. They are doing a thankless job, and have saved millions of little lives even so.
and as Bob used to say after every show, "Have your pet spayed or nuetered".
