a quick update . . .

I got the outdrives installed yesterday . . . they seem to get heavier every year :D No time to run them, so that will be on the hit parade for next weekend. I just hope they run OK.

Then I got to de-grease them and get a good coating of anti-fouling paint on them.

Quick Update . . .

I ran the outdrives a bit to see that everything was OK, shifting, etc. First with the props off (safer) and then with the props on. I was getting a bit of bearing noise out of the port outdrive, so it looks like I may have come up 1 short in the bearing replacement. I put a stethoscope in various areas of the drive and it looks like it is the mid-bearing on the vertical shaft that transfers the power from the upper to the lower. This is a double roller bearing.

Once I put the props on it was less noticeable . . . out on the water, I could not really hear anything disturbing.

So, we shall see how it runs, but it (the bearing) will be on the short list for off season replacement.

Chris - they do look better in black :thumb:
