Well, it was a beautiful 59 degrees this morning with low humidity. So my wife and I went out to the garage and sat in our fold-up chairs and sipped coffee. Watched the sun come up, listened to the birdies, discussed progress, plans and dreams. Then later my beautiful bride brought breakfast out to the garage. It was awesome! :joyous:

After an hour or so my wife said that I needed to get the tunes back into the garage!

Done!

After that, it was time to introduce the boy to a push broom.

He found out about working for the man... and keeping to the beat.

Then I put my little tractor to work. Used the box blade to move the dirt around, smoothing everything in the front of the building where the big trucks had torn it up. Took awhile and I ran low on gas and it was lunch time so we quit for the day. Got some more gas this evening and will do the rear of the building tomorrow.

Then we'll start moving stuff out of the old shed and into the garage. :D

Tell the boy to get a leaf blower, makes cleaning out the garage only take a few minutes. :D

Made more progress today.

First I put my little tractor to work grading the rear ramp area of the building. Then the boy and I started loading the truck with stuff from the old shed that I want in the garage. Made a few trips and I'm a happy camper. :)

HOT here today! As in 94 degrees while we were working. Whew!

First machine in the building! My little Craftsman garden tractor has plenty of maneuvering room.

Back in the barn!

Plenty of room and easy to move around on the new concrete floor.

Yah! If the truck and Kingfisher both fit, then the Chieftain should be able to fit!
4.jpg

Found these two window fans buried in the shed and rigged them up to move some air while we were having lunch!

Second load in the truck, ready to be offloaded.

While sitting there eating, this monster flew in for a visit!

And just as I was posting this reply, my buddy texted me to let me know that he had 2 more free tool boxes ready for me, so the boy and I went down there and snapped them up! They're in kinda rough shape, but will do for now.

Hey now that you have all that space to work in isn't it time to tear into that Chief?!

Building the building tore into my projects budget so it'll be awhile longer. Besides, I still need to put that 50 Merc on the Kingfisher. Eventually?

I started the outdoor work 51 weeks ago today. Planning and budgeting, etc. was in progress for months before that. Good things take time.

So guys.... ;)

And now the real "space" fight begins! :frusty:

A neighbor gave us the two big bikes a couple days ago. They're for the boy and my wife, not me. Am doing my best to keep this kind of stuff outta the new garage. Still trying to figure out alternatives. Have already promised my old 10' x 10' metal shed to my neighbor buddy and haven't come up with a replacement.

And my wife said the new building will be a great place for her to set up an easel and do some artwork painting.

Sigh. :grumpy:

Haven't been able to do any work in the garage over the last few days. Too busy with first of the month stuff and preparing for my surgery tomorrow. And the weather has sucked. HOT with high humidity. Like low 90s for both! This morning is much nicer though, 71 degrees and 55% humidity. :D

So I did go out and take some pix of the tool boxes a few minutes ago. Am trying to decide if I want to repaint them or just clean them up and use them as is.

The little red Sears box works well. The drawers all move freely. But it's the rustiest of the bunch. Maybe use some Naval Jelly to remove and stabilize that?

The black Homak was originally red and has been painted over and the paint is peeling and whatnot. The drawers all work well though.

And the Task Force box has the best finish but the drawers don't open. My bud who gave the boxes to me said that he overloaded this one and everything jammed up. Dunno what I'll find when I take it apart.

Going back out now to do a little rearranging. :)

Oh yeah, I also found out that I have a transmission leak on my truck.

Already bought the parts and am awaiting my young buddy's help in getting it fixed.

I would suggest for added storage in nearly the same footprint to add a "lean to" garden shed as deep as you need it on the side of the garage and an open lean to on the other end.

oil on concrete drives me berserk.

If you are a ryobi guy check out their leaf blower. For as little as I use one i traded in my gas powered for it and it has plenty of power and battery to do garage, front walk, pool area and driveway. One less spark plug and POS carb in my life as well as no extension cord to deal with, another peeve of mine. Man I'm a PIA...

Got some things rearranged. Haven't started taking stuff out of boxes yet; waiting for the boy to help me with that part. ;)

Yeah, a lean-to is definitely under consideration but it'll be awhile due to funding constraints. Other stuff (like boat work!) take priority. :)

Thanks for the tip! If the cheapo $20 unit I bought doesn't work out, I'll upgrade. :joyous:
