I think all that was left was to wire up the dash and install it on top of the console.

Now back to work in the morning. Most folks got their docks in this weekend so it's high gear delivering all the boats this week. $$$$

Up and in the field at Dawn on "Big Red". That grass I cut last week jumped up out of the ground. Humidity gets higher than the temperature. (Suppose to be 96 by noon. Got a courtesy stop from the FD; no burn ban yet; but watch your Fire.

Have a place on Glen Lake. Shop is near there.

Well, for today....
Had one of those days, everything I touched went to hell in a handbasket. Decided to give up about 6....

then I thought...well, one last job, I'll change the oil in one of the work trucks, it's been dinging at me for a while.

get it all done and go to check the level...

THE GOSH DARN DIPSTICK BROKE OFF IN THE TUBE @#$&^*
gonna sit here real quiet and still and drink ...

I think today was payback cause I didn't go to a local buddies funeral this morn, just had too much work to get done.

well now I not only played hookie from the funeral but I got twice as much work to do tomorrow!!!

Went across to Soo Michigan and got 15 imperial gallons for the boat and full synth oil for the truck at 15 bucks for 5 litres at wallyworld. Also filled up the truck so I saved big time vs buying gas from the colluding thieves in my town.

So we were sick of lugging stuff from the garage on one side of the house, to where the boats are parked in the summer..
(The other side of the house.. ) AND sick of wanting to have a fire, but the wood was wet... Again.... LOL

The Admiral had a great idea.. We had leftover wood from replacing the bay window in the front of the house.. (Ice Damn.. Another story... LOL) so she figured why not use it?

We built 2 storage boxes for outside. 1 for firewood in the backyard, and a "Twin" for boat supplies.. (gas cans, TCW3 oil, jack, jack stands, funnel, Life Vest storage between trips etc... )

Now we don't have to go as far when we want to prep the boat.. Which we'll be doing in the morning for another day of fishing... :D

Only needed the 2x4's and 1 sheet of plywood and the hinges to add to what we had from scrap...
Nothing special.. But it's still a good feeling having created them (never done it before)..
No plans, or designs.. We just drew it out on a piece of paper, and went at it.. We said it'd be fun, and doesn't have to be perfect, so we just enjoyed the process of creating something together..

The Admiral is crafty as heck, so she'll be sealing them with paint, epoxy or something..
I leave that to her realm.. LOL!!

So that's what we did today.. (Well yesterday now, but... haha!)

Here's a pic of the boat box.. (Firewood box is identical... )

4' wide, 2' front to back.. 2' 6" tall at the back, and 2' tall in front so lid is slanted down from back to front..
Will be adding a lock to the front..
Not too shabby for scrap wood (mostly.. )

Pretty sad state of affairs if you need to lock up fire wood? Guess you do what it takes.

good for you on the project though, necessity breeds results

We have a thief living here who gets in the wood shed and drags wood all over the property.

Yep, when they ain't sitting in spilled oil they are leaving chewed up pieces of bark all over the shop.
