My 2003 SX175 with 190hp I/O turning a 25pitch laser II will peg the speedo at 55 and keep on going till it hits 5K rpm with only 2 people and a half of tank. It starts to get a little squirley though. You have to love the VEC construction on these little missles!

it sure does like to chinewalk like you said once you get to those speeds... at first i was going to get the I/O version w/ a 4.3 merc, but once i saw the 170 with a 150 merc mounted on it the decision was easy. my dad claims he had 62 on gps with his friend in the boat the other day but im not sure if i believe him.. were picking up a SS prop soon, so im sure 60-63 mph will not be out of the question...

ok, I have to post this. It's a buddy of mine's 22 Scarab. It now has a 630" bbc... over 900 hp.<br /> It chine walks at 80ish when it's calm but if it's a little choppy he can hit the throttle at 80 and it puts you right back in the seat.<br />Top speed on gps... so far is 92 mph. <br />The engine will do more but the hull is maxed out there. <br />At 4000 rpm it does 77 mph and the engine will turn (like the dyno sheet says) 6800! You figure it out. It has a 32" 4 blade SS prop. <br />You should hear this thing! It rocks! <br />(btw) He's not a maniac as you might think. He's a motorhead playing with his first boat!<br />

1966 Starcraft Arrow<br /> <br />Maybe not the prettiest or the biggest shown here but it's paid for!!<br />I've been running it on Pierce Lake Illinois with an old Ted Williams 7.5 on it, just finished installing my 1971 Johnson 40Hp on saturday, have to redo the wiring on the motor and hopefully run it this weekend...

I built my current boat. It is a 16' center console boat powered with a 1985 Merc 50. I built it from plans purchased from www.glen-l.com . It is their Console Skiff model. It took about 12 months of part-time effort to complete.<br />
