Re: Show Yer Boat II

1986 16ft. PolarKraft with 40hp Evinrude. Not quite finished, gonna put in a few more rod holders and another seat or two. Really fun to work on! Added the decking, chair, paint, doors (to storage) and carpet. Couldn't be happier!

the beginning:

Alden - great looking boat that you built. I have built two and neither one of them is in the same league as your's. My excuse is that I'm an accountant (retired) and not a carpenter. But I am improving and enjoy the process.
Who designed the boat that is shown here?

Our family lives just about 4 tenths of a mile south of the Skaneateles Marina. Looks like you were on the west side just north of ten mile point. I know every inch of that lake having been on it for over 40 years. This is my 1986 18' Winner Center Console (no one has ever seen one of these before around here) That's a 150 Mariner on the back that is undergoing a facelift!

Here's my first boat. Shot this last weekend. It is now my BIL's. Bought new in 1984, OMC 140 Stringer, I sold it to him in 1995. Head has never been off, doesn't use any oil. He just had the interior redone.

I like to see all the older boats as well..especially all the tin...I sold my 1980 Grumman 4.6 ( bought it in '82 for $2500 sold it in '02 for $2500) and got the exact boat I have wanted and dreamed about since I started boating @ 12yrs old.:

my 2002 Maritime Skiff 1890:

My latest project. A 1978 20.5' Penn Yan Explorer Outboard. It is powered (at least for now), but a rebuilt 1982 Merc 150. Penn Yan is known for their tunnel drive systems. In their spare time, they made a few fantastic outboard models. This boat is a fishing machine. It has wide open cockpit like a sportfishing boat and it is built like a tank. This is the smoothest riding trailerable boat that I have every owned.
