These are scans of old pic's from a show we (competitors) put on after a tournament in Vermont 25 years ago. Boat was an old Crosby (now Hydrodyne). We had to step off to get up. If you look closely at the 2nd skier you can still see his ski. The close up is me at age 30. I can post a more recent pic of me once I learn how to reduce file size so they can be uploaded, unless someone can tell me a different way. I have 1000's of ski photos from as far back as 1963.

Sorry to hear of the injury.

I am painfully aware of that potential. For me, keeping the frequency up has been key. Anything less than twice a week and I'm losing ground. Turned 50 last week. 62 days of skiing so far this year with another solid month of cool, but skiable season ahead...the body willing.

I am jealous. You're 50 and still cuttin' glass. I used to do a lot of skiing in Sept and Oct. All the tourists would be off the lake and typically the lake is very calm in Sept thru early Oct. The later in Oct we'd go, the more a wet suit was needed. Enjoy the rest of the season. Nice looking cut in that pic, by the way. That's the proper technique- -as you know.

I'll take the credit for taking the picture but that shot isn't me, it's my 10 year-YOUNGER, and most regular ski buddy Rich. Awesome elbows-to-vest and handle-to-hips stacked position.

Here are a couple more of my age 50+ ski friends.

Personally, I just try to smile for the camera.

You guys are awesome! I would love to get half as good as you slightly age advanced fellers. Wanna here somethin funny. I'm going this Thursday to interview for a new job 2 hours away purely because it's close enough to the lake that I could live there and ski whenever I want. I have a great job, but it's not close enough to the lake

In my line of work, companies generally require you to live within a certain proximity to the job. This job would allow me to take up residence at the lake and still be near enough to the job. Hope it works out! Fellow ski addicts, say a prayer for me

Beautiful bike, Okie. I looked at a Victory Vegas at the Tulsa State Fair a few nights ago. Wish I didn't have so many other priorities or I'd go buy one. Your bike reminds me of that Victory I saw, except the Vegas had the swept pipes instead of the angled/straights.

Those Victorys are sweet sweet bikes. Mine is a Yamaha Raider 113ci (1900cc). Sadly, it has been sitting in the garage most of the summer because I've been spending all my spare time at the lake. This is the perfect time of year to ride though.

Those Victorys are sweet sweet bikes. Mine is a Yamaha Raider 113ci (1900cc). Sadly, it has been sitting in the garage most of the summer because I've been spending all my spare time at the lake. This is the perfect time of year to ride though.

Well then, you need to come to next years Lake Eufaula iboats meetup.

You know I've never been out on Eufaula. I've hit most every other lake in the area, but not Tenkiller or Eufaula. I was out on Fort Gibson yesterday running a tank of old gas out of the jet ski so I can put it up for the winter. Water was glass smooth, 85-degree day, about a half-dozen boats on the water for the whole lake I think, lol. I didn't have to jump a wake or get wet for the entire two hours I was running up and down the lake at 40-50mph!
