Biting off way more than I can chew here. Letting go and living to ski another day...helps avoid a lot of pain. :)

That is an AWESOME pic. Wether you pulled it off or not the picture couldn't have been taken at a better time. :)

OK, here are a few of our family...

My son cutting a bit... he just learned to ski for the first time about 3 months ago and has passed my abilities already. Its so great to be young!

And his little sister who also learned to ski for the first time 3 months ago.

And this is me... trying to get back into this stuff without hurting myself. This was after getting up on a deep water start for the first time in about 20 years and after trying unsuccessfully all summer.

And here are my son and daughter going at the same time. Can't believe they pulled that off, but they did and had the most fun they had all summer.

And big sis who doesn't like to ski, but loves to wakeboard.

And I had to throw this in for those trying to get up on one... my 14 year old daughter pulling through the start.

I'm loving the photos everyone has posted. I'll be sure and point my son to the one of oldjeep's son getting some serious air without a huge wake to prove that it can be done. I'm also loving all the slalom photos, way cool. I'll have to remember a camera when we go out again this year (we've probably got another month of warm enough weather left, then we start fishing).

Looks great, tow vehicle is still down for me. So last weekend out was weekend before the holiday and had to borrow a truck.

Last weekend at Lake Powell, Utah. Look at that great glass!

First, my son Chris trying to stand up on the kneeboard.

Second, the inevitable result!

Third, throwing a wake.

BBO is that a double handle rope you are skiing with? havent seen one of those in a while. Been on a slalom 30 years and used to love the double handle 20+ years ago, now I don't think I could even use one. Keep at it looks like all is coming along nicely....

Yes sir that is indeed a double handle rope. I like a regular handle, but my wife likes the double handle for deep water starts on one ski, so I just use it too. :)

Re: Show Us Your Pics

I was skiing this morning with my buddy Rich. He has an awesome stacked body position as he edges out of his turns. Elbows in tight. Handle down by his hips with the load going through his core into his legs. zoom.

182092594.jpg

I remember when I was able to do that about 12 years ago. At 51, both my rotator cuffs are shot and I have cortizone pumped into them every year. Torn ligaments in both knees that ache like crazy every time it gets damp or I move the wrong way. A scar on my forehead from a Connelly taking me out on a fall.

I wouldn't trade the pain for the exhilaration that skiing gave me since I was 8 years old. Just a forewarning that all who ski hard will inevitably pay for the fun later on. Until then, cut glass and ski on.

Re: Show Us Your Pics

Sorry to hear of the injury.

I am painfully :( aware of that potential. For me, keeping the frequency up has been key. Anything less than twice a week and I'm losing ground. Turned 50 last week. 62 days of skiing so far this year with another solid month of cool, but skiable season ahead...the body willing.
