Hey JHOLE, the funniest part is when people are back in the pit area when they get ready to set the clutches on them top fuel cars.

They warm it up a little at idle and a bunch of people standing there watching and then all of a sudden that snap that throttle and all the people jump.

Automatic reaction. No one can stop theirself from jumping.

Re: Show us your Classic or Unusual Auto

Ok, how many of you out there remember the great Hudson Automobiles?
hudson51.jpg
Our 1951 Hudson Hornet was purchased in July 1951 by the late O.A. Schnitker of Twin Falls Idaho. My father found her after she had been stored for about 20 years and bought her in 1993. He replaced the headliner that the rats had decided was a good nesting place, had her painted 1993 Toyota Silver over 1993 Lincoln Blue and went through her mechanically with a transmission rebuild, new brakes and tune up. The car now has only 52k on the odometer and as far as we can tell the motor has never been opened. The car is all original, with a 308 flathead "six" with a 4 inch bore and 4.5 inch stroke and 7.1 compression ratio that develops 145bhp and is still using the original Hydromatic Transmission. I bought the car from my father in 1995 and have been to many shows with her. She made it to her first HET National in Seattle. Managed to swap the gas tank right there in the parking lot of the hotel with plenty of help from fellow HET members.

These are our two Hudson Hornets. 1951 and 1953 with original 308 flat head sixes. The '53 also has Twin H Power.
Check out our web site for many more pics of these great automobiles from 1910 to 1957.
Hudson on the Web

Re: Show us your Classic or Unusual Auto

John and Jackie, Sweet cars. My wifes grandfather had a hudson dealership. When he passed away we found stacks of old hudson and studebaker stuff. The family was going to throw it all out. Being a motorhead I grabbed every bit of it. Everything from like new brochures, pens, filmstrips, ashtrays, etc, etc. I sat on it for about ten years then I made a lot of hudson guys happy when I sold it on ebay. Perhaps you bought some of it. :)

By the way welcome to the board :)

Flathead,

If I ever throw my leg over another bike, it will be one just like the black bike you pictured. That is what motor bikes are supposed to be.
