I'm new to boating and have what I feel is probably a pretty easy question.
I,m looking to buy this boat but the person has it advertised as "1980 Crestliner. 14 ft." I thought starcrat was a manufacture not a model.

Yeah, it is.
Is it possible he doesn't know anything about the boat?
Starcrafts are ok boats. If you like it, check it out and negotiate a price.

Check this boat very carefully. Pay particular attention to the rails at the side. In the picture it looks like they are very corroded/pitted. Looks to me like this boat may have some leaky rivets.

I should have mentioned it came with his cottage he bought in 89.
So he has owned the boat for 20 years. I haven't seen the registration yet, I'm wondering if its for a Crestliner.

Rails? is this the area at the waterline?
