Hi guys. I have a SunRunner 272ultra. I'm looking for a passenger seat. does anyone know where to buy? I live geographically in Florida.

What I did on my old boat was I bought two matching helm seats from Wise where the color scheme matched the colors in the rest of the interior. Was the cheaper way to go. For the large rear bench seat (old wood frame & weighed a ton!) I used two pontoon boat benches 36” long each, this allowed me to remove one at a time when needed to access the engine.

how much can a seat cost if ordered from a furniture workshop?

It depends on labor & material cost. Take that pic of the seat & show it to an upholster shop that does marine work. If the padding etc is ok they can take the vinyl apart & copy it in new material. If there’s nothing there they will have to rebuild the frame out of plywood and add new foam & vinyl to match the rest of the interior. It won’t be cheap!

Maybe, but you’re talking needle in a hay stack. If the boat is at a salvage yard, how good do you think the vinyl and wood backers are? You have 3 options in my opinion. Buy something new that’s close and make it work. Have it professionally reupholstered and bench restored. Buy a sail rite sewing machine and watch their tutorials and do it yourself. Vinyl is the last thing I have to do to mine, and I’ll be choosing DIY.

Be me, I'd DIM too. Not really that difficult on relatively small items if you pay close attention and go slowly. Materials are cheap ..... compared to the labor...... (the fun part, IMO )
Oh, and the rewarding satisfaction of DIY.
You would save more than enough to cover the machine cost. Will also enable you to do more upholstery, covers, dodgers and many other cool canvas / vinyl projects.

I would do it myself (DIM)

You could try Don's Surplus and Salvage in Clearwater, FL, Lanier Marine Liquidators in Dawsonville, GA or Alabama Boat Salvage in Talladega, AL. There are many more up and down the east coast. You might get lucky and find a boat that was salvaged from one of the storms over that past few years.
