Re: SE drought

If not, wish we could send you some. Here in Indiana land we've got lotsa water in the last 2 days. Our courtyard here at the hospital now have ducks swimming around in it which provide some amusement to the visitors and employees alike when they walk by. :D

As gonefishie stated, we've got more than enough here in Indiana. Raining here as I type.

We got six inches across the area yesterday. Quite a bit of flooding.

Re: SE drought

We got a bit today, but nothing compared to what was projected, so not much help today. Still, it's been a wet winter with the la nina. Let's just hope that we can get some more rainfall this summer than we did last summer. Of course if all of you living west of us would water your lawns more, more water would evaporate and fall back down on us, so it's your fault if we don't! :D

Re: SE drought

I wish all this rain/snow stuff up here in the north would stop. Flooding is all over in Ohio as well. Thanks to the Army Corp of Engineers it could be a whole lot worse for lots more people. All of our 18" of snow melted followed by 4" of rain. Can't even walk in the yard without sinking into it.

Got a call from the marina,,,,,they are saying that we won't be able to use the lake now until late April........Bummer..... Fellow boaters in other areas can't use their lakes do to low levels, and here we are with flood levels in our lakes.

Re: SE drought

Here in GA we are still way below, but with all the rain we have gotten in the last couple of weeks it has helped. The lake near my house (allatoona) is up very close to where it should be this time of year but another big lake (lanier) about 50 miles away is still way under...so we are still under water restrictions but not as bad as it could be. I just hope this summer isn't as dry as last year and I hope the Corp of Engineers don't let out as much water this year so we have water to boat in this summer.

Well, I actually think we are on par, if not real close, with annual rainfall, assuming you reset the counter at Jan. 1. If you wait for the lack of it last summer to catch up, yes, we are still behind. Allatoona has a nice watershed, so 1 inch of rain usually adds up to 1 or more feet of water in the lake. Lanier doesn't have that advantage, so I would bet money that it will take 2 or more average rainfall years to fill back up. Allatoona should be there in a couple weeks.
