Hi everyone, my 1985 houseboat now has a leak in the roof. It's a sport cruiser and it looks like the trim around the roof has rotted (possibly how the water is infiltrating?). I believe the roof is particle board covered by fibreglass. If the particleboard has become wet (we ripped out the ceiling and can see that it's wet), do I need to remove it and the fiberglass to repair it? I'm wondering if it's possible to only take out a section to replace rather than the whole roof. And of course this is happening during rainy season!
Thanks in advance!PXL_20221102_015651870.jpg

I’m not a houseboat guy, but I don’t see why you can’t repair it like any other roof. Cut out a bad section of sheathing on the center of any studs, replace sheathing, install your roofing material of choice, (fiber glass in this case), done.
