Your motor needs 500-600 cfm. Even if the carb was free, it won't work right

Agreed go with the 4bbl. It is definitely worth it on a boat where you are between 3500-4500 rpm much of the time. Even though it is very expensive, the Holley 4160 I linked on the first page is already set up for your engine. Yes you can buy used, "reman" but it can be risky. I would only buy from a local trusted shop, not internet/mail order. If you have one in your area, look for a classic car restoration shop, see if they can find a marine version of the 4160 and then you have to set it up for your engine. Marine carbs ARE different do not use an automotive carb on your engine.
The other option is an Edelbrock 1409, last time I checked they were a lot cheaper than Holleys, some like them better than Holleys as well, due to there being less places for them to leak gas. The Holley modular design although it is very adaptable and easy to modify, has a lot of places to leak fuel (front and rear float bowls, fuel transfer pipe, bottom mounted accel pump, etc). The Edelbrock & Rochester Quadrajet not so much. I myself an a fan of the Quadrajet, even though the last ones were produced a long time ago, you can still get just about all the parts you'd need.

It was on 454 and has about 30 hours on it
a 1409 is exactly what you need - 600 cfm. works well on my Chevy 5.0 l vortec. easy to tweak.

A 600 would be too small for a 454 so would be good if they re jetted it to reset it to factory jetting and step up rods. Hard to tell but dosent look opened. You can easily take the step up rods out of the carb top without removing bowl if they are the factory ones likely wasn't touched...

Here is the bible for edlebrock carbs https://www.edelbrock.com/media/wysiwyg/documents/carb-owners-manual.pdf

Just need an intake now

They went to bigger carbs...I can grab it for 400 bucks
They are $579 new these days so that seems pretty good.

the model is written over on the box, I assume they got 1410's which is the 750 cfm version and are using the box to resell these

Eddys are a good carb to learn on simple to tune.

I used merc 80359T throttle cable bracket for clean factory install. They use it on their webber copy of the eddy used on their reman engines.

#6 in attached drawing, not sure if your throttle linkage is the same to cleanly bolt up

Here is a couple of universal fit marine fuel hoses on Michigan Motorz site that can connect fuel pump to carb. Fuel inlet is 3/8" on starboard side of carb. If I recall ford fuel pump is on port side of engine? You can also bend up preflared brake line from auto parts store

Right fuel pump on port. I'm going to go grab it and then work on intake for it
