Good morning guys,
I'm looking for any help to locate off white foam backed perforated headliner material. Going in the cuddy.
Thanks!

Larry/guys,
In regard to cabin head liner is their a pro/con to a foam backed product?
I see some factory foam backed at high pricing vs. no foam. I know I can add my own foam to backing but what is the benefit?
Well, for one thing, it helps when u hit your head ;)......it also seems to contour better on non flat surfaces, and helps with adhesive bleed thru.

You could also consider standard vinyl wrapped over thin wood or foam panels, held in place with velcro or matching button top screws, if wiring will run underneath it. You would probably have to install glued battens to screw into.....

Also, any imperfections in the cabin roof will telegraph thru non backed vinyl alot more than foam backed.
Well thanks. That all makes sense. I was thinking instead of ply or formica backing to use this instead. Its a corrugated plastic sheet. I can add the foam to the cut template then adhere the vinyl skin.
Thoughts?
I found this and I think I'll use it and add the foam myself.

Im sure any marine vinyl would be fine, given its inside the cabin, and not out in the elements, where something like Sunbrella would shine. Not sure what adhesive would stick to the plastic backer board tho.

I've had no issues using this set up on my cuddy ceiling. Adherence was great.
The usual spray adhesives bonded well. 3m, gorilla etc..

When I did mine it was not foam backed. I got it with the boat so I used it. Due to the compound angles I could not see any way to put panels up. I think if I had foam backing I might have had a easier fight with wrinkles....just guessing....
And I have one small spot where wiring is touching it barely and stands out like a sore thumb that I have to fix. As far as hitting of the head protection I dont have a problem with that at a tall migits height of 5-5. My whole cabin is less than 6 foot but plenty of room for me

Is that a thumb Good Luck or yep it will work.
I,,mmm soo confuseddd
Thumb?...nah, it was a middle finger  lol

Personally, if I was gonna use that plastic backer, I'd sand it to scuff it up, spray the adhesive and wrap the vinyl around the edges and tape it with gorilla tape on the backside. That way you dont get any peeling edges.

How do u plan to attach the panel(s) to the cuddy ceiling?

Maybe a pic of the area your working on will help us......

Couple of options but primarily going with commercial grade 3m velcro.
Bump out other areas for electric/future use.
