of getting a road trip kitty. Some on this board knowI have a love hate relationship when it comes to cats. I love it when I don't have to see cats on my property. I hate it when they get into my boats, trucks, and kill the wild rabbits.

Last monday night, my wife kept saying she heard a kittens cry. Normaly I would go seek out the would be rabbit killer and ..........

The next morning I go out back and I heard the tiny little meows of a kitten. Sure enough I got a look at a tiny gray kitten. It was real shy and skittish. Yesterday, I finally got it tamed enough to eat out of my hand and now it wants to climb all over me. So I guess I have an outside cat now. Something is wrong with me, I hate cats but don't know why this one is softining my heart. Guess it could be the love for my grandkids because I know they love cats. At least it will show them it is okay for a person to change their mind no matter how strong their convictions are.

Got to name it now. I like DOC as in "Dropped Off Cat"! :D

An outside cat is good to have. My neighbor has one and he keeps the rodent population thinned out. Now if i can just keep his paws off my new truck.

I share your anti-cat sentament, but have let several of them glom-om to my heat strings over the years. Cats (IMHO) are mindless predators. Unlike a dog, they only tolerate humans for the food and comfort we can provide. Not sayin i blame them. I am inherantly lazy... If I could get some big two-legged monster to take care o me, I might curl-up on top of their puter monitor too on occassion. :)

I liike "DOC" a lot. I have a dog that used to bolt whenever I opened the door, and not come when called -- spent many hours hunting her down. her name? "Mia" .That's the name her former owner gave her, and I found out it fit her to a tee -- you know --- M.I.A. ? :)
Thankfully, she has grown-out of that behavior, and learned to come when called (took a shock collar, but....)

Re: Receiving end of a Cat (update)

Don't it figure? I finally made amends to my hatred for cats. If you can't fight them join them,,,right? Something told me that this kitten was something special. Guess I was right.

Early this morning a mother and her daughter knocked on my door asking about a lost kitten that matches the desription of the one that came to my house. It turns out that this kitten meant a lot to the mother and daughter because their father/grandfather got it for them. The day after they got it, the father/grandfather died and the kitten became missing. So to them, this kitten is precious to them. I took them out back and they were pleased that I took care of it.

Man ole man, the number of ferril cats that I have taken care of and then this one was an exception for a reason. Why or how come, I will never know. The lord works in mysterious ways is all I can think of right now.

Your last statement is so true SS.
Long story short.
I ran over this little gal.
A turtle shale.
Took her to the vet, said she should have been dead.
Won't have nothing to do with anyone but me.
She will sit on my lap while I am on the computer and not make a move.
I get up to go do something and she is right beside me.
P.S. She don't like JRs either.:D

Not at all SS. All that is missing here is your recognition that there is a huge difference between Kittens and CATS.:p

The only good cat is a dead cat. The first animal I ever killed in my life was a cat using a baseball.
