Reattach cap to hull

try to keep all your posts in the same thread.

was the gap there before you pulled the cap? if so, how was it filled?

if not, your cap is slightly aft of your hull

I don't remember. The stern is a little bowed out, but the lip of the cap is straight. It fits properly up front. I am unable to adjust the position of the cap and get all seams tight. So I am left to deal with this gap.

Is it possible that amidship the cap is sitting a tad lower then it was before?
If its lower this will move the stern out further if the bacp sits lower on both ends and higher amidship

No. I checked that. It seems the stern has gone out of sorts over time.
Also, where the stern does bow out and contacts the cap, I have the screws inserted into the original holes, so I know it is correctly lined up.
