After Flushing the motor from being used, should I disconnect the gas line and run motor till it dies out? I use the boat every 2-3 weeks.

Re: Quick question about after using your outboard

No need to drain the float bowls (run dry) till your done for winter.
And even then I dont see why, if you use a stabilizer.
Do you run in salt or brackish water? if no then no real need to flush every time either unless you think you are getting sand or something in it.

Running the bowls dry it can cause scoring in the cylinders. It easier to fix a gummy carb than to hone a cylinder.
Use a stabilizer and an Ethanol stabilizer.
2-3 weeks is no time at all.Months is a different thing.J

Excellent info, yes salt water use. I had taken it out today and flushed without running out the carbs. Thanks for the info guys!
