Question on bimini top location

Obviously, a PO removed the strap and added a bracing bar in its place. As a matter of fact, I did that very thing eons ago on an old boat when the strap needed to be replaced. Poor choice on my part because the fixed mount would not allow tightening when needed.

I've been a boater since 1954. Experience trumps everything else. I'm here to learn new things (nobody knows everything), but more importantly to help others.

Umm...probably referring to a convertible top. My FourWinns had that and it had solid supports in the middle and rear. It attached via snaps to the windshield in the front. No straps to connect it to the boat.

Just sayin sometimes these are factory and not owner mods...

Mine is a three bow stainless bimini. The bows are evenly spaced. It is fixed by poles forward with a brace bar from the front bow to the rear bow. It was professionally made by a "Marine Trimmer". I have never seen those stupid straps on Any old school Flybridge Cruiser.
