Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and so far I'm glad to see I'm not the only person with the boat loving disease. Recently I found an old ski supreme rotting away behind a shop. Decided to drag it out and bring it back to life. I know these old supremes are not worth much, but I can't stand the thought of leaving her to rot.
So far I've cleaned the boat up a little, floors and stringers are mush of course! Sent all the upholstery off already, and I've started ripping all the rotten stuff out. Planning to post up pics as I go... Wish me luck!

Cool boat Wingnut. Uh, hopefully you took ownership, and not just possession. Finding things behind shops could be considered theft! :eek:

Is that a 302 or 351? Nice boat btw. I have always liked the look of the older pleasurecrafts with the thru hull exhaust.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm extremely excited about the project. I did take ownership of the boat:). The engine is actually a 351w. Not really sure what shape it's in yet but it does turn freely. Planning on going through and freshening it up. The airplane in the pics is actually one from work. My boss was nice enough to let me sneak this project in the hangar!

Thursday update! didn't get much done after work but did get the hull halfs separated! The top half weights about 38 times more than I imagined:( picked out interior colors. Check the pics and tell me what y'all think!

Welcome to iboats. Like the grey, but if you plan on using a lot of the red inside....well, that'll be a lot of red. Might be good as an accent.

I agree! The people who are doing the upholstery are supposed to bring some more colors by next week.

I try to stay away from red because it fades the fastest of all the colors.

The washing did wonders for it, I'm excited for you. I don't have time or money to attempt that so i wish you luck. I have worked on other projects and I guess the same can be said with any project. Take your time, and don't let it take control over you. enjoy and good luck

Well we all survived another week! Spent a little time after work messing with the boat. Everything is finally exposed:)

Very cool boat! I really like the lines and there are some really cool features on the closed bow piece (I like the vents and the teak strips).... this should be a really cool boat once restored... Also, nice little airplane hangar you have to work in... (you will appreciate the elbow room and the roof over your head)...

I see you are from Athens.. Very, very cool town! Probably the second best college town in America (to Oxford, MS - but, hey, I'm biased)...

Ya it has been nice using this little hangar! We typically only use it for storage and little paint projects( and the occasional boat);). Thanks for all of the compliments on the boat guys! Planning on cutting the stringers out next.... More pics soon.

I completely agree with you! I love the lines of all these old ski boats. Hate to see them left to die. Glad everyone is tagging along. Feel free to come over and grab some tools:). Even you pmccraney! Just don't say ole miss too loud:)

I too, would love to come aboard to see this really cool looking ski boat brought back too better than new condition...
Don't remember seeing what length this puppy is, but with a good running 351 it ought to fly [pun intended;)] out of that hangar and into the water...
