welcome aboard bigblock! Thanks for the complements, it has been a fun project. The seacast in the bottom is to replace some plywood they had down there. They had laminated 1/4" plywood to stiffen up the bottoms of the sponsons and center pod. The seacast replaced that.

I bet that deck is nice and solid, and nice and warm from the foam curring. Boy that stuff is messy isn't it. The deck is looking good.:thumb:

It is a mess, worse than resin in some ways.

most of that is from the left overs in the bucket / funnel/ GA. There are parts of the volcano in there however!

I mopped up the mess from the foam last night and sanded down the entire deck this morning. I had 3 five gallon buckets of junk! Its a messy process, but the deck was rock solid afterwards! After that I put a primer coat of resin on.

After that I laid a layer of 1.5 oz chop strand on the deck and rolled it up the sides.

Then I wet it out, from front to back.....that was a chore in the heat today.

I was planning to put the next layer on tonight, but my butt was dragging...so I mowed tonight, which is what I was planning for tomorrow night. I'll get the next layer on tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thanks guys! Its a good feeling seeing her go back together! Hopefully I can get this wrapped up soon.....however I have to work on the fence this week too....nature sucks sometimes!

I did have a thought this morning, I do need to get the bunks sorted out before I put the motor in. I'm not a fan of the roller trailer, so modifying that will be coming up next.

That is a great looking layup.. A lot of fast moving in 90 degree weather.. No wonder your dragging..
Did you have any help?

I've enjoying watching the progress you have been made on project fuggly and the way you explain your thoughts and procedures for all the work you have done so far. I will definitely be following till she is splashed. keep up the great work. Just don't forget to...Live the Highlife

She's close enough to sit on a milk crate and make putt-putt sounds. :thumb:

I've done that GA, lol! I made some progress tonight, nothing too exciting. I ground down all the nibs and blew out the dust. After that I put 1708 over the holes I drilled for the foam.....forgot to do that in my haste Sunday. After that I tabbed in around the motor well for the last time. I had visions of putting the last layer of glass on the deck tonight, but after this weekend I was worn out! So I decided the smart thing to do was call it a night, then finish the last layup later this week when I have my ducks in a row.

I also pondered the trailer changes last night. Next thing after the deck is going to be pulling her off the trailer, before I put the motor in. That will allow me to do two things, add the bunk brackets and replace the rollers. Secondly clean up the bottom of the hull and buff it out....really looking forward to that lol sounds like another workout!

Last layer of glass went on the deck tonight.....

I still have to tab it around the edge.....but the bulk of the deck glassing is done. I do have to work on the couple little pieces forward of the forward bulk head...that may get a bit messy, but at least its a small area. Tabbing the main deck in next, the pulling her off the trailer for the trailer retrofit and buffing out the bottom of the hull.
