Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Here is my new to me 1973 18' Holiday. She has a 1979 Mercury 115hp Tower of Power on her. Got the boat for free. Now have about $500 and 50 hours of labour invested in her. Had to replace the original transom and replace all fuel lines as well as rebuild the fuel pump. Runs like a dream now and boy is she fast. Going to bottomkote and paint her this fall or next spring.

Wish I could figure out how to put nice big pics that weren't links but this is the best I can do now. The cabins are about the same era as the boat. 66 Holiday completely restored from trailer on up. View attachment 106976

Use photobucket. Hosting pics on iboats is a pain and not worth the trouble. You'll find lots of other uses for your photobucket account anyway so it's well worth setting up.

I have heard that before. But, to me, photo bucket might as well be a fish bucket. I have to get someone by to walk me through it. I am the engineer that still believes these computer things are but a fad and will someday fade away!!!

Thanks. I have some great pics to share.

It's WELL worth the effort to figure out. It can automatically resize your pics as you upload them. That alone makes it great.

So it took me a little while but I finally splashed on the lake. The old '72 SS ran like a champ. :D

Now I need to do a little more cleaning and cosmetic stuff. Suddenly I feel a gravitational pull towards large bodies of water. ;)

Some updates. Not a restore but it is amazing to see what some trusty rusto will do (before/after)

boat3c.jpgCIMG0154a.JPG

Last fall / Last week

boat2b.jpgCIMG0157a.JPG

This was the easy route, not perfect (that's for sure) but it makes it a bit more respectable.
Top --> rusto cobalt blue metallic in rattle cans
Bottom --> rusto gloss white w/foam roller
inspiration --> these forums, thanks!

Couple more.... Who knew that nice wood was hiding under the vinyl on the dash.

of course now that the boat is painted, the motor and trailer look like crap. guess i will keep plugging away!
