That boat looks awesome with that Chrysler - what HP is it - how do they go?

The Chrysler is a 45HP. It runs great and she will do 30 mph on gps on flat water and averages 27-29 on choppy stuff. Its a great match for the boat as it is much lighter than the 40HP evinrude I took off of there.

Here is a '81 SS181 my brother bought tonight for $500. It needs some work one the OMC stern drive and the engine. despite the work needed it has a tremendous amount of potential. I believe it is all original.

I know how you all love pics, sorry that they are not the best.

nice price, great deal, and other than a shorter season with an I/O, great buy

I have owned I/O's, and less moving parts, the outboards are more finicky

I am not so down on the OMC. It would be nice to have a Mercruiser but that was not a deal breaker. I thought it was a great deal. There are options.
