Here's a pic of my '74 Islander showing the new dash, with original door and seats that came with it, but aren't original.

Here's a pic of the engine and back seats with previously new carpet installed, it has since been removed as I am refurbing the entire boat.

engine_red_carpet.jpg

and the back end.. and the only 2 peices of teak on her.

stern.jpg

Yup.. that's a left hand prop... I bought off Ebay by accident, neede a 23p.. I used it for a couple weeks, then returned it.. and got a RH Prop. Oh yea, I was also using a 1.98R drive from a '67 120hp 4cyl while I had a drive I bought re-worked and re-geared for the 165hp.

I never like to miss a chance to throw a picture on.

2003 SF14, planes out better than this, but I told them to go slow so I could keep up to take the pic:

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Thanks guys - the wood is new- still have to put the darn stuff away. I am still trying to find someone who knows how to install trim tabs on this boat - I have purchased a set of m89 Bennetts and my only concern is attaching the hinge plates to the transom. The hull is marine grade .100 aluminum and Bennett recommends through bolting, however I cannot get access as the floor plate extends right to the transom. I was thinking of using JB weld to attach thicker aluminum plate to the hull where the trim tab plates would be installed. Once the JB weld (or other product) sets up I was planing on using the #10 SS screws the apply the SS trim tabs and hinges after applying mere sealant (JB WELD) the the screws and in between the SS and Aluminum.

This boat has a supper deep 19 degree dead rise at the back - great for rough water but will tend to make the boat sensitive to weight shift while underway - Trim tabs will be excellent on this boat - (I would put tabs on a 12 footer if I had one LOL- just think they are great)

Any guidance or feedback is really appreciated.

Here's a few of mine.. the original nameplate is missing ,but the trailer ..original trailer, not the one under it now , was a 67'....the boat in the original paint and decals said "starcraft carolina edition" was golden yellow and dark burgandy..almost brown.

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Thanks, my daughters have been taking a few pics along the way ...but getting them will be a task! I'll see iffin I can get them to release them to my computer soon . Anyway, N.B. had asked for a few pics of the original boat awhile back and I scanned a few from some old pics ..a bit grainy but should show the jist of her before we started any real work on her. The old , I'm guessing , original motor was a 65' model seahorse..replaced with the current 74' 115...that only had 50 hrs. on it. Here are some before pics ..and btw , we used the boat with this original paint scheme for about 10 years ...just got really tired of the old burgandy paint rubbing off on us everytime we leaned up against it !

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Thanks Kainon, the top deck is actually a real light dove grey,,,does'nt contrast alot with the white but I did'nt want to go much darker to keep it cool. still thinking about an accent stripe with the blue and grey a little higher up on the side...what do you think , keep it classic or smooze it a bit? Plus I still have the "carolina edition" decal to put beside my altered "starcraft " vinyl on the side when it comes back from the decal guy...it will look just like the one on the glove box only blue:)

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Looks Awesome !!! please forgive the intrusion but the seat you have aft is typically on the bow and vice-versa, though the one on the bow will provide more back support, and be more comfortable :)

Nice Starcraft...looks like you have a v4 85hp on the stern...how fast
does she go according to gps and with what prop?:)....I'm guessing
somewhere between 35mph and 40mph:D...I have a 60hp Johnson
on mine and the best I have got out of her is 30mph on the gps...
I plan on raising the motor 1 1/2 inches and trying her again next spring..
I have never done a compression check on my motor to help see if the
motor is doing as well as it should....rpms...around 4900..just a tad low..
thinking of upgrading later to a 85hp Johnson:D
