Welcome aboard Stan. REALLY interesting - I didn't know they made a "pointy end" Kodiak. I've only ever seen 'em in tri-hulls. Take a look through HERE. The old catalogs might have a photo in to help zero in on a year.
I don't think the Kodiaks had windshields. But then again ... I didn't know they came in V-hulls, so ...
Thanks for the welcome! I have looked at the link you provided above - have gone through all the catalogs and nothing appears even close to the configuration of this boat. I have also spent quite a bit of time searching for this model via google, searching all the links and images found - but nothing. Completely has me stumped.
Added another picture, you can see it definitely had a windshield at some point in the past. I plan on mocking up a design with pieces of 1/4" plywood that I have laying around to see what sort of angles are needed. I mounted a depth-finder on the console last weekend so I already know that the current bevel on the front facing windshield will need to be modified as there was not enough from for a 5" depth-finder if left at the current angle. I milled up a quick piece of 2x4 with a 30 degree bevel that seems to give plenty of room for the depth-finder. That will mount to the console and then the windshield will mount to that piece.
Looks like the original windshield ran all the way back to the rear casting deck, but I don't think I'll be going back that far, maybe just 14-16" or so (any suggestions from others would be appreciated).
Great info on the site, I already have the info from the sticky post on carb synchronization for the Chrysler motor so I can work on that the next time I have the boat in the water.
