Pontoon transom style question

Hello guys, I have a 24ft pontoon i’ve restored and current have Engine off of it and was going too replace board on transom.

was thinking maybe of changing my transom too a more aerodynamic style?
my current one is of the style of the boxy one in bed of truck in pic. Seems too me it would catch more water and slow you down.
Is there anything too actually be gained changing it? I found a good deal on a used one on marketplace

Probably not,.... Toons aren't noted to be super efficient,....
