pitted aluminum

Hello, I finally removed my rotten transom only to discover the aluminum is deeply pitted in numerous spots. I was thinking of putting a new skin over the back by sealing and riveting or welding. Any suggestions?

Hi Bob,

I'd look at (Dura Fix)... It might take some careful experimenting, but at least it's worth a look...

Thanks Alan, I purchased a aluminum plate to cover most of the rear of the boat. Because of such a large area, I think I'll have it welded. I may try durafix for smaller jobs in the future.
