I wouldn't select imgur. As I noted in a previous post, it's in the same situation as PB and it will likely pull the plug on you eventually.
I certainly cannot vouch for their continued support, but imgur has always banned commercial use of their service, something that PB never did for their free service. And imgur monitors their traffic, so anything attempting to render on eBay, etsy, or amazon will automatically trigger a client side error (AFAIK, according to their TOS). Those commercial users should obviously be using a CDN service, anyway.
At some point imgur may very well attempt to monetize use through a subscription service, but for now it's the best free host out there. My build thread uses it and I haven't had any issues...yet. PB's failure to ban commercial use may have been the impetus for this decision. But that's just speculation. It was certainly a business mistake that other businesses took advantage of.
I have no sympathy for the eBay sellers whining about this, but I feel bad for the guys like jasoutside who lost years of well curated threads on multiple projects.
imgur does get ad revenue from reddit, as most of those inline links go to a page with ads; i.e. the images are not embedded like they are here, at least on reddit's desktop version.
My point being that their situation is somewhat different than PB's in terms of commercial use and their respective TOS.
