I set up a PB directory with sub-directories that mirrored my PB albums. Then used the album download in PB which generates zip files that are down loaded to the hard drive. Extracted the zip files to the mirrored hard drive directory. Sometimes generating a zip file to download was fast, other times it took forever,

The answer is you can download albums instead of one pic at a time.

Can you download all your PB pictures, back to your hardrive, in one operation or do you have to do it one picture at a time>

You can download folders from PB and get them all in one zip file from them back to your HDD.

You might be able to download all your pictures a folder at a time. I didn't since I already had them on my backup drive so I just deleted everything.

When I selected "DELETE ACCOUNT" they popped up with a question box with multiple reasons and a box for comment asking why I was deleting.

I wasn't nice......

Yah sure go ahead and do that unless you have thread pics there that are in folders on PB and you want the same exact pics to replace in your thread as originally posted.

My two favorite lines from PB...

"Initial results are positive", Photobucket said.

"This path to a more sustainable business model allows us to develop an even more robust product to meet our customers needs," Corpus said.

Yup, that's some Grade A BS right there.
I guess you missed this line
But 75 percent of Photobucket?s costs originated from ?non-paying users leveraging 3rd party hosting,? Corpus added. And it resulted in ?zero revenue.?
Sorry...but getting rid of a free service had to be done to save this company...at least for now.

More robust product? They sent me an email wanting me to buy toilet bowl lights among other worthless things from their new storefront.

So how do they figure zero revenue when this particular 3rd party hosting deadbeat bought their canvas and metal prints?

Apparently, you were an aberration. My recommendation...switch to Costco.

Just realised/thought about it.... PB are still getting all those data requests. Everytime someone opens a thread containing a PB hosted image, their servers are still getting a data request... and now instead of sending back the requested data, they are sending those speedo thingys. So, what have they achieved? Nothing the way I look at it...Joke's on them....:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Nope, didn't miss that Bruce, it's a good point. See, 75% of their clientele were free folks. That leaves 25% as paid folks. 100% of these people can no longer post photos to 3rd party. Nearly all of these folks are pissed off and 0% will cough up $400 for their crappy subscription.

PB has enraged it's entire client base. They have no business model. Out of a thousand possible options this route may have been the worse.

A couple of years ago when PB was having trouble I sent them a suggestion....see, like Waterman I too purchased stuff from PB. I hate going to the store to print photos, this was super easy.

What I suggested was that PB clients spend a minimum of $25 per month or be automatically charged $25 per month. Either way they could maintain a fully active account without restrictions.

I'd do that in a heartbeat and I bet a lot of other people would too. That model would be a guaranteed revenue stream, customers would be happy and if they weren't they could take their photos elsewhere.

The route they took, everybody loses, including iboats users, customers, and even PB themselves.

Asked elsewhere, probably bettsr asked here
Can you see your own pics on your thread or do you get that speedometer looking thing? I guess what I'm asking is how can you tell if your thread was hit? My pics seem to still be there at least for me to view.

Pat, you'll know when the speedo shows up. For some it didnt happen til yesterday. More probably tomorrow, on and on...... seems a sure fire way to get the speedo is to post a PB linked image in a topic that gets a lot of views, like here.

I'm going to try to fix the some of the broken images in my threads this weekend. Does anyone have a favorite program they use to resize their pics for uploading to the forum? My computer is a windows 8.1 machine if that makes a difference.

If you downloaded your albums from PB, the pics are already resized. Mine where anyway.

You probably have Paint? You can resize there...... I've only used Paint for watermarks and screenshots tho.... Never tried the resizing feature....

Just re-did my Bravo thread and found out a couple things. Downloaded the album and then started upload and delete links. Found that not all the pics were downloaded in the album. No worries, what I did was select the pic in the link and did a save pic as. Once saved I uploaded it.

Things to note.
If your pic are still there no need to download, just save and upload.
Once you download don't automatically delete the folder until your sure
Oh and some of my pics were larger but when zipped they where reduced and also during a save-asby PB, so we can give them a thanks
