Tucker’s a great looking lab and lucky to have a family that can cover his medical costs. We have a lab and use Trupanion for insurance. I never thought I’d have insurance for a pet but here I am. Had a dog years ago that needed back surgery, after that we got insurance. No regrets on paying for the insurance thus far. I prefer our dog to a lot of people and she also enjoys boating so it’s a win-win.

My brother lives in Kentucky and his neighbors are Amish.....they were talking about dogs and pets, and my bro asked them what vet they went to......they looked at him like he had lost his mind.....lol.

Hope you have a speedy recovery, Tucker! From a couple of Wheatens in MN.

Saw a sticker at fleet farm Friday.....My dog behaves better than your kid.

Had to laugh because it's true (sometimes). :)

As and eighty five year old grouch I prefer my dog to most people and only once or twice a year at most she won't be on the boat with me if I am on it.

Since I have never been on your boat with you AND the pup, does that mean you like me more than your dog?:p🤣

Who know maybe we will get to see are old friends again some day. It is hard to to lose our best buds and it never gets any easier. I still think about my favorite dog all the time and she’s been gone for over 20 years. I love all my dogs but that one was hands down the best of the best.

We have had a handful of dogs over the years. It never gets any easier to say goodbye to them. We had a yellow lab that lived till she was 13 and her body just gave up. Her quality of life was not good at the end. We took advantage of a service our vet has where they come to the house and do the euthanasia. Bit of a comfort having the dog where they love to be and not stressed in a vet office when that day comes.

My vet offers that service as well and it’s definitely better all around. I hope his office doesn’t change much when he retires. I’ve had the same vet for 35 years.
I had a black lab that went though the same as yours at only 11. Her organs just started failing one after another.
A good friend of mine just lost his boarder collie a few weeks ago. She was just a few days short of 21. She had a good run but her quality of life was not good for the last 2 years and to me she shouldn’t have had to live like that but who am I to say anything.
I know it’s hard to let go but you need to think about their life over yours.
