Hello Iboaters, just an introduction. In the process of starting my project a 1991 paramount 26. What I have done so far is found a soft spot in the back corner of boat, so cut entire floor out to check stringers. Seems like stringers that attach from transom to first bulkhead need to be replaced, stringers after that seem very good. I do believe the transom needs redoing as well. The problem I’ve run into when planning out replacing the transom, is how to go about replacing/repairing it. I’ve done research and read other post on here about how it should be done, but have run into some issues that I could not find, or may have not been covered. Like, quite a few cracks in gelcoat above and below where transom bracket is mounted. Taking cap off is out of the question, but cutting back section off is very doable. I will post pictures shortly along with specific questions, and hopefully we can get it figured out and keep the ball rolling on getting this boat completed and back in the water.
