Painting boat with metallic spray paint?

Hey guys,
I just finished priming my boat with RustOleum Self Etching Primer

Next, I was going to paint it with RustOleum TopSide Paint, but after seeing how easy it is to spray paint I would rather go that way.

My question is can I spray paint the sides with RustOleum Metallic - Black Night? Would this be fine in the water? I realize that painting the sides black might be problematic but I was planning on spray painting the inside white to counter act the black.

I realize now that I should just call RustOleum and ask them, but thats no fun.

Just my .02...

Metallic paint of any kind can be a bit tricky to get it to come out even and not look like it has tiger stripes, but anything is possible with some practice...

It might work, it might not but your fingers are going to be crying from holding that nozzle down. Your best best is to invest in an actual paint gun and get a can of metallic paint.

I painted the topsides of my last boat with Rustoleum Metallics blue with rattle cans. It came out OK I guess but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It pretty much refused to gloss up and I ended up clear coating it. That made it look nice but the clear didn't hold up well.

You really should Clear over any flake/metallic IMO ..

There are Some exeptions .. but they are kinda tricky/Expensive ..
