I also am a big fan of carpet, a little more work involved to get the deck sealed, but in my opinion it's well worth it. Whatever route you take, remember to seal the edges as well!

The transom stringer job -- decided to get a new hull and that's this one with similar problems :)

As for pics, it seemed like no one asked for more so I assumed that the ones I posted were OK, also they illustrated everything that I was asking about it. and I haven't posted any more because I've had very little time to work on this since my mom has been in the hospital recently -- but they are coming when I make some progress.

I appreciate all the help that I can get and I glean what I can from everyone's opinions and formulate my own.

Yes, we are trying to do this as cheaply as possible and yes I understand that it's not easy and takes a lot of time.
However, I see it as an endeavor and something that me and my friend with whom I'm splitting the costs of everything, can really learn from and hopefully get something out of.
It has been a long trip for us with the whole boat thing since we started last summer, knowing NOTHING, and we have made tremendous strides.
And we have all of the carpet from the old hull which we spent a lot of money on -- it is marine carpet.

It seems like there's a certain stigma attached to being young -- but I see us as equally capable as anyone else who is jumping into a resto project.
It's an ambitious project, but I would contend that when we finish this project it will look and perform very well and last us through college.

About to finish pulling the rest of the floor and foam. I think my new floor wood is almost dry and ready for epoxy :D

What is Poly?

So i'm assuming, if I vacuum my carpet and seal the PT plywood with epoxy, then it should last at least 5 years or so?

If all you want is 5 years out of it, you don't really need to do much at all in the way of sealing the deck. It will be usable for that long by just putting the carpet over the PT wood, it's in trying to extend it further that sealing it in a good manner becomes important. 5 years goes by fast though, so think about it before picking a method. Coating it with several coats of epoxy is quick and simple.
