Paint Restoration

I have just purchased this 1977 AMC American boat. It has only had one owner until I bought it. It has been sitting under a tarp for a few years and the finish has been dulled. Can anyone suggest anything to restore it? I love this boat.

Have you tried using regular car wax to buff out a small section to see what it'll do?

Fiberglass boat has a gelcoat finish, not paint, unless original owner painted it....

You could start w wax and see how it goes, but may need to be cut first w progressively finer grits of wet sand paper. Start w least aggressive you think might work and go more aggressive until you see a result then work back down thru finer grits.
