Someone said Monica was a real hottie!
Yeah, it was Jim . . . While at the same time suggesting the rest of our wives are worthy of Alpo . . . :|

Wow, Guess I missed that one. It may have been before I discovered DC! I remember others talkin' 'bout her bein' a hottie, so I thought it was possible. JR8)8)

How can that be OMR, I thought DC was so vituperrious, that it just reached out and grabbed all the newbies and moderate veterans alike, whether they were looking for it or not?:%

It DID grab me Boom! I was surfin' the Mercury Outboard Motor Part learnin' the things that I didn't know 'bout my old motors n' ol' JasonJ, (ironically), mentioned in one o' his posts, (maybe not ta me but he said it ta someone) 'bout a "basement down on DC". I surfed over here n' saw political debate n': gotcha, I was hooked. Bro Haut's initial spankin' (polite but tough n' well informed) set it, (the hook) for me. I may not know much about motors, (especially compared to the BIG GUNS on here), but I know a few things about finance, politics, n' history, (jus' like you do my friend). I try not to get personal, but I can only take so much drive by stuff, n' I will eventually punch back. Even though I was hooked by DC it really is voluntary, as you well know. Those who can't handle challange to their ideas, and the knowledge one gains from such a challange, should voluntarily stay on the other parts of this site, (IMHO or NSHO). I LUV HARD BALL. JR

Before this degenerates into a political discussion..... how would you Murky, and you Boomer, feel about something more central to draw in the Southern crowd.... as opposed to something just for those that live in Portland, Vancouver, and surrounds?

How about Ten Mile Lakes?

I know... I KNOW, that’s where I live, but it is centrally located for Northern California and all of you that live in Lib country. :p

Sounds great Crunch. I've never been out there yet. How many can Mrs Crunch serve at a setting?;)

I hope Lube Dude comes around as he knows a lot more about the lakes than I do, but it has over 175 miles of shore line and is the premier Bass fishery in Oregon. It’s a natural lake so you don’t have to worry about knocking your lower unit off on a stump, and if the weather is nice... some of the best ocean fishing to be had on the coast from a very easy bay to get out of.

Just a thought. :p

Anyone want to trade name badges with me???????????????

Re: Pacific North West Gathering.

I for one would prefer "Doe" island in the San Jauns, (one of the most beautiful places in God's country, which includes Norhtern Kalifornia, Orygun, Warshington, n' Western I da HO, most of which was Orygun ta begin with). I do think the Columbia river is more central then central Oregon, (asumin' QC has a Southern gig). So if I were votin' : #1 choice Doe; #2 choice Columbia River; #3 Capt'n Crunch's place. My $.02. Re: Pacific North West Gathering.

we should probably break it up to several get togethers...one for the san juans/puget sound(near where I live..)..one for the guys down south in northern calif...like clear lake/lake shasta or lake bariessa area....and one for the southern calif group...and I don't know where that would end up....then post all the pic's of the group that could make it...
my boat is too big to trailer..so we'd drive right up to the san juans....

Hey TG, Similar ta Portland, Early ta mid May it gets comfortable. 'course ol' Al is tellin us it may come sooner ya know. The San Juans are in a bannana belt n' have far less o' the liquid stuff then the rest o' Western Washington. That's why so many of my formers clients, (people with large bank brokerage accounts) live up there. JR

Re: Pacific North West Gathering.

While the San Juans are....
Dare I say it?
God's country.....
I think that it would be too difficult for the "Cornfederates" to travel that far north.....
That & the logistics of having to either take the ferry & lauch or to park at Anacortes & launch from there would be a hardship for someone who had a 4-8 hour drive....
Plus, unless you are under twelve, actually going in the water will require later surgery to retrieve your huevos from your stomach!:% :)
However, I don't feel that should preclude a "Puget Sound " get together........
Maybe some of our bretheren to the north would take the ride down.....
Has there been a Magster sighting?
I will hit the San Juans this year, regardless.....

That said, I would be game for either the Portland area or Crunchyland, leaning more towards Crunchyland if both salt & freshwater are available.......
Having boated neither, I would be game for either....
I am guessing that the accoutrements would be reasonable in either location with regard to logistics......
How far into the Columbia can you catch Dungeness?
The dates would have to coincide with fish/crab season of course.....JK

Re: Pacific North West Gathering.

In the columbia river crabbing is pretty much limiited to the mouth of the river. In this case that would be the fort steven's area. In june or july the summer chinook would be running, along with some good crabbing in the bay area. For those of you that havn't played on the bar it could be quite a experience for the brave hearted.

Re: Pacific North West Gathering.

Me Bro (in Alaska) bought a Columbia river "Bowpicker" due to the fact that it could take the rather large waves n rough water that occurs there. One o' my good buds skippers a tow boat across the ol' Columbia river bar n' he says that the ol' Columbia is one of the three worst bars on the planet we live on, (he's been ta many places 'round the world). #1 The Pacific Ocean is a rather large puddle o' water, (n' regardless o' the name can get a bit nasty) #2 The speed o' the current at the mouth is 5 - 7 knots (very strong compared to most o' the world's rivers). #3 There is a bar where the big ones crack. For those reasons I would advise most of us to stay clear o' the bar. I would Luv ta see Capt'n Crunch's place n' same with the Columbia River near Portland for the reasons (me Seattle Bro) Haut stated, (I luv ta explore new places n' my sweetie wants ta see the rock Boom n' Crunch were talkin' 'bout. So I can be persuaded to do what the group decides. JR

Re: Pacific North West Gathering.

Ahhh i see, now look what youv'e started Boom, soon Rooster Rok will be a naitonal sensation. As to the Columbia bar i am afraid that would limit the fishing to crabbing only, I doubt very much there will be a decent salmon run this year, last year was a total bomb.

1. Columbia river

2. San Juan Isalnds

3.Ten Mile Lakes

4.Three RIver's Area

5. More suggestions?

OK I voted for the Columbia River, (sorry Capt'n). Second choice: Capt'n's place. Third choice: San Jauns. JR

OK lets get off rooster rok and get on to the real agneda, people boat's and fun. i believe time commitment is a critical thing here, It's damm hard to commit to a fun adventure unless you know the out come. So cast your vote's and ideal's, in the end we are the adventure and all the fun little thing's that go along with people.........8)
