Red have you seen anything from oops??

Nope, I see stuff rarely from him on Facebook, but he doesn't seem to be doing much actively on social media. With his work ethic, my guess is that he's knee deep in work and doesn't have any energy to spare for trivial stuff like the interwebs. Either that, or he's become a complete alcoholic and has thrown the middle finger at society....lol. I'll let you decide which one to go with.

His fame with the Sea Ray has caught the attention of my local glass supplier though..guy's been in the boat business for a long time...use to supply Mercury with tooling supplies when they were making PWC way back in the day ( for those like myself that didn't know, apparently Mercury fooled around with the PWC market a long time ago and failed ).

I wish I had a better cameraman with me, but you take what you can get. I promise a much better produced video once I get a few more things installed...like a dash with gauges. Things I need : A tach, a trim gauge and sender, more seats and a floor. I was going to do vinyl flooring, but I'm wondering if going with a painted on floor would be just as good as doing a good quality paint....

redfury, congrats on getting her back in the water, curious how fast you were going that 125 pushes her really well :plane:. Good luck with the rest of the build and keep us up to speed

I dropped it in Lake Fannie, right off 65 in Cambridge. Lake was like glass, nobody on the lake at the time either with a decent launch and dock. No idea how fast because I didn't have my GPS with or running on my phone. Next time out I will have an idea on speed.

Nothing like getting a long project finally functional. I might put her back in the water again this weekend.

So, I'm considering doing a layer of carbon fiber on the dash....But I've still got a ways to go on what I've got going now before I can do it...anyone have any hints with working with epoxy? From what I know, it's going to take 24hrs for it to dry and that vacuum bagging would probably be the best way to go. I can get the carbon fiber for 41/yd and a quart of epoxy for $25 bucks. I'll only need a half a yard, so probably about $50 for a carbon fiber dash....which would be pretty cool. Any thoughts?

Well, I spoke with my supplier, and while he said I could probably pull it off, I decided to go against the idea of doing carbon fiber, at least for now. I am going to gel coat my deck, since I got a great deal on a 5 gallon pail of it ( 100 bucks! ). I figure I'll use a couple of gallons of it, and then see if I can find someone local that needs the extra for cheap ( pay it forward ).

There's a fighting chance that I might just finish the blank and make a mold for it if it turns out nice enough. I've got a lot of sanding to do.

So, I decided to put gel coat on the deck of the boat, and I threw a couple of layers of the leftover gel on the dash piece I made. I still have to sand the dash smooth and keep working it, and I'd like to do the same for the deck...one more coat of gel and I think I'd be happy with it. Next up, finishing the interior!

Anyone local to me in MN need some white gel coat? I've got 2 gallons left over...sell it to ya cheap!

Mod EDIT: Please remember iboats is a retailer and they sell the SP200
http://www.iboats.com/Vexilar-SP200-...iew_id.1197099 Iboats will price match lots of items AND forum members get a discount.
Think I'm going this route for a depth finder for the boat. It'll simplify wiring, plus the cool factor of a Tablet for the fish finder, GPS speed and it works with Navionics which I have on the tablet already...it's a wireless hotspot, so anyone on the boat can see how deep we are on their phone with the app. Guess I'll have to make sure to add a few USB 3.0amp power points throughout the boat for charging batteries. Not much room on the dash for a big bulky fish finder anyway, so I like this option. I did get the deck Gel coated and it turned out really well. I got lucky and found some matching antislip tape from 3M from Axman Surplus for cheap ( wish I had bought 2x as much as I did, the stuff was awesome. Did figure that those cheap chairs in the picture gotta go...I need more butt cushion...so that will be upgraded ASAP. I have to figure out the rest of the seating first though and get the interior panels created and covered. Still a Work in Process, but it's a working work in process, so it's a lot more exciting to get new things done to the boat.

Red, please support the generous host of this free forum. Iboats sells the same SP200 for the same price, cheaper after your forum member discount.

I wasn't aware of the forum member discount...is it applied if I'm shopping logged into the site? The only reason I would buy elsewhere is that I have credits to use up. Haven't purchased anything yet, haven't even got the boat wet this year yet ( darn back of mine ).

Edit: Currently out of stock....

So, I managed to score some vinyl to start working on the interior. Looks like I'm definitely going to need a different sewing machine as my Brother is just a little undersized for the task, and I can't get it to stitch a long enough stitch for my preference. I'd rather not poke a million holes in the fabric in each of the seams and weaken the material. So, I'm looking out for a more robust machine at a reasonable price and looking for Foam to cushion it with. In the mean time, I'll start working on the wood bases for the rear seating and anything else that I need to make or mock up for the interior. With my back getting hurt for the second time in as many years, I haven't had the stamina to deal with the boat much, and the Astro blew up. So, I had spent the better portion of my time fixing up a Bonneville for myself since the wife has a Sport Trac that is more than capable of pulling the boat around. Also, the lack of Overtime really puts a damper on the boat funds, so it's scraping together little by little to finish this project off.

So, things are still moving along. I scored some comfy seats to keep the tri hull chatters away...one is an SAS style..picked up all 3 for $225. I'm not sure about the aft boxes I built, I may end up scrapping that in favor of a full casting deck out back with some flip up chairs since I mostly fish with the boat anyway.

Right now, I'm trying to figure out why my engine is running like it's dumping fuel...the exhaust burns my eyes it's so bad. This happened after a fuel pump rupture. I cleaned the carbs with carb cleaner after disassembling them and putting new gaskets in, replaced the head gasket and have already checked the condition of the reed valves. New fuel line, primer bulbs and fresh fuel. It starts off nice, but the more I give it throttle, the worse it gets. On the lake it would drive like a bat out of hell for a solid minute or 3 and then start surging and smoking. Right now, it took 3o seconds in my yard to start running rough and smoking. 50 to 1 on the oil and the fuel is ethanol free. I've got a post going in the Force forums. It's really a bummer because it's a beast when it's running right.
