I'm using the same method I used before the forums went through their change. I'm not a particular fan of this system at all. I'm going to upload my pictures to Picasa and share them via links and see if that will work better.

Red, it's a bit more involved, perhaps, but it works really well:

If you have pix in photobucket or a few other 3rd party pix hosting sites (I don't know anything @Picasa, but Flickr is a pain to try & use this way, but is doable).

Right click a pix you want to post, choose Copy Image Location

Come back & paste that info IN your post/reply. It will look something like this:
htp:/lh6.googleusercontent.com/-d0pWNFtqGfs/U7idN5_aoXI/AAAAAAAAE7I/YpjZ3QbbH50/w933-h525-no/20140703_204725.jpg

Add the following BBcode to the beginning & ending of that info: [ img ] at the beginning and at the end: [ / img ]

I don't know if it'll work, but I added spaces between the brackets & the img text in those BBcodes. When you are done it will look like this:
{img]https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-d0pWNFtqGfs/U7idN5_aoXI/AAAAAAAAE7I/YpjZ3QbbH50/w933-h525-no/20140703_204725.jpg[/img**

I had to substitute { and ** for the 1st [ and the last ] in my sample above. If I hadn't the pix would have posted instead of the BBCode.

The pix should show up IN your post/reply & look like this:
20140703_204725.jpg

At photobucket.com, the IMG code listed for each pix IS CORRECTLY formatted so the pix is posted when you copy & paste the IMG code. You shouldn't have to add the brackets or img BBcode I sampled above.

Okay, I got it figured out. For some reason I thought I needed to use the link button to post an image from a link. I know how to use BB code, I just though the forum was going to make it easier to post pictures than it is, because it doesn't tell you about any restrictions on images when you upload a picture. Now I'll post more pictures, I'll just have to host them with my google album through picasa. However, I couldn't remove the link when I edited the post above with the new picture.

That happens on a lot of pix. I'm not sure about the others, but I'd bet it's deliberate on Google's part.

Every email I get thru my gmail acct prompts me to 'invite' them to join gmail if the email is thru a non-gmail server. AND they 'want' me to use their phone & mobile computer &/or chrome... So I think that link is gonna stay if you use Picasa...

Well, Impatient as always, I couldn't wait. I flipped the hull after work. I didn't get any pictures of the flip, but it was relatively uneventful. The 1 ton chain hoist worked great on the back of the boat with a swivel and a chain, the front I ended up having to use a swivel and 4 pulleys and rope which actually worked quite well.
Next step is putting the backing strip around the edge of the hull for the rub rail to screw into!

Working on it! Picked up the plywood and glue, rivets and stainless screws to put the two halves back together. Hoping to get the wood cut into strips and installed for the rub rail support tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I have to make a Junkyard run for the van this weekend too.

So, I cut strips of 1/2" birch plywood rated indoor/outdoor, cut reliefs if I needed to to bend the wood and used PL premium and clamps to hold them in place. I used 5/8ths long rivets as well to hold them tight against the hull. Glastron originally just used rivets, but I figured that this is never happening again to this boat, so I glued it as well, the PL will give the screws additional bite as they are driven into the wood when I place the cap.

I managed to snag some nice items at the JY all for 100 bucks. Ended up having to return the gauge cluster and get a 21 dollar credit, but the rest of it ended up being a good deal. Just gotta paint that fender and install it.

As for now, I tweaked my lower back at work, so I'm not doing anything but going on vacation to Colorado for the next two weeks. Hopefully when I come back I'll fit that cap back on and start rebuilding the interior and working on the upper bodywork and painting!

well, I wish I could say that the back was better, but it's only marginally. I think I may have a pinched nerve, the Chiro will see about that on Monday. Today was cap fitting day, and it went pretty smooth, with help from my son.

I currently have a couple of tires with rims pushing down on the splashwell to hopefully relax it back down as the splashwell was supporting the rear of the boat for the last few years. I'll check it out tomorrow and see if it's moved any.

All things considered, I'm a happy camper. the boat will find its resting place in front of my shed for me to work on under the shed light at nights when I can, and in the daytime when I have the day to work. The big tarp is down for now, but I can throw that up pretty quick when the time comes, and I can position the boat so it can be underneath it completely if the boat is there first. It's gonna be a little harder to maneuver the boat with the tractor, but it's still possible. Would be nice to have a single axle trailer, but I got what I got and I don't see me getting anything else soon...though I may find myself doing some more work and painting on the trailer in the near future since the old color scheme doesn't match the new one.

Wish I had 350 bucks laying around though, I found 4 reclining boat seats that match the color scheme perfectly.....darn expensive family vacations!

Well, with winter closing in and my level of procrastination, I figured I'd better figure out my storage solution for the semi long term since the boat is now in the position of being a "collector" of water/snow/ice/leaves over the winter. So, I picked up a good 6 oz tarp ( 12x20 ) for $30 and some PVC tubing along with a 20+ foot piece of metal fence railing. I figured I had 3 extras laying around doing nothing and they worked well for the my temporary shelter to paint the bottom of the boat, it would make an excellent "rib" for the cover. I wish I had documented some of the things I did in preparation, but you should be able to figure out the gist of what I did in the final product.
100_3731.JPG

Looks pretty sturdy and the black side looks pretty good considering the boat is going to be black. It was either that or silver, and I like the idea of the black helping to keep the snow off the boat. We'll see about that in a couple of months, right?
100_3734.JPG

So, this is how I support the "rib". The center supports are 1 1/4" PVC tubes, whereas the front and rear supports are 1" because that is what I had laying around from the support system I had made for my smaller boat. That system sucked, this system rocks. I had to use a forstner bit to open up the "T" to allow the rib to run through it, but I like the snug fit in front and back...I don't have to worry about them slipping out of position, especially since I had my boy help me bend the pole to fit the contour of the boat with the windshield on it ( not currently on the boat, so hopefully the profile will be right and I can use it unmodified when the boat is complete. I used a total of 4 ea. 1" and 1 1/4" T's along with the lengths of piping. I did however use 90 elbows at the bottom of the center supports to keep them from slipping away from the weight of the snow once it's pushing down on them.
100_3735.JPG

I tried to keep this as simple as possible.
30Q0q5yDruvDNI1TGQC3NJF4DaLEM5_lDEzvE_Slu08=w1097-h823-no

I kept the front pole just poking in front of the boat and used a 90 degree elbow used on a garbage disposal to round off the end of the pipe to keep it front tearing the tarp. In back, it's so loose that all I had to do was cut it off and package up the extra material. the nice thing is that there is enough of an opening to allow ventilation from front to back, but enough closure to hopefully keep the majority of any snow out of the boat.

And good timing too, looks like it's going to get put through it's paces here on Monday-Tuesday as we are slated to get 18" of the soft stuff. Kind of a bummer though, there's a lot of us still trying to get our fall projects finished...

Hi Red,
Glad to see you poking around and that you got it all tucked away for the coming winter...hope it holds up solid against Ma Nature...
Oh yeah, and keep taking it easy on that back of yours...you are gonna need it come spring time.
All the best!
