Can I put my OMC 5.7L on a normal auto engine stand or should I build something specific?

You will have to remove the coupler and flywheel. I pulled mine with manifolds on and mounted on my HF 1000lb stand. It's been on there for 5 months now. No problems.

Might post your question in the OMC I/O engine forum But if it's got threaded bungs & your engine stand mounts will adjust to fit their locations & screw into them, I can't see why not
