older skiff hull repair

I bought an older skiff pretty much just for the motor but when I got to looking at it, its not in that bad of shape. The hull however does have two golf ball sixed holes on the bottom that someone filled in with what feels like caulking. Im experienced in fiberglass work but everything I have read for hull repair says to do it from the inside. Unfortunately in my situation I cannot access the inside of the hull to do the repairs that way. My question is how do I get the fiberglass to adhere and not have airbubbles in the fiberglass work that are going to cause problems down the road. I know its been done but cant seem to find any info. Thanks.

It can be done but depends on application..

This hole is about the same size on both sides. The person inserted some kind of plug that was screwed in and then siliconed over. The keel is in need of some better fiberglass work to make it look better but overall im just worried about the holes. sorry it took a couple days to get the pic up. Thanks again!!!

All you need to do is do some inside scuffin and outside grinding/beveling. ( about 4" round on the outside )

Duct tape the inside .. goto the outside and fill the hole with some Glass putty. Put a few circles of glass on.

Wait till its just kicked off..then go to the inside and pull the duct tape .. Acetone wipe and then put down a few layers of glass ( 1708 ).

Now its just a matter of fairing out the outside

PS. Make sure your inside is to raw glass and not over paint/gel.

Thank you. Is there anyway of doing it without pulling up the floor? The guy before put those plugs in it and then laid a new floor and carpet that looks really good. If not, i guess the new floor is coming up!! Thanks again for the help

Your the one looking at it lol..

You might be able ( if your willing and able ) to put an inspection plate on the deck to give you access and cover it quickly ..
