OK, So Everyone Needs a Good Laugh Once-In-A-While...

I think of this as my Cove Boat. Since I live on a pretty nice fishing cove with an area of thick stumps I needed something small to just get away from it all. This is a Pelican Paddle boat stripped of it's paddles and equipped to do some fishing and Jugging in the cove. It has a 40# thrust Min Kota and equipped with all the Texas Required safety gear (In Texas even the trolling motor requires registration of the boat) with the exception of a fire extinguisher since there is no need for one. Hope Texas Wildlife sees it that way. Cooler for fish and custom rod carriers on both sides of the craft and top it off with an Eagle Cuda fish finder and it is ready to go...It does draw some laughs...

Nothing to laugh at, perfect little fishing machine! My uncle an I use to fish out of a 16 foot old town canoe years ago, had many of my best fishing days on that thing. I miss it!

When I was Younger, Much Younger, I caught a TON of fish usin one of these... Albeit not as fancy. But... Worked just the same. Matter of fact Biggest Larger Mouth Bass I ever caught was sittin in a rig like this. 8lb. 10oz. PUlled me all over that pond. So for me, that's a pretty fancy rig, ya got.

Looks good to me, nice little rig and I'll bet that Minn Kota fires up on the first twist of the throttle every time

It does, however, look like that rod/reel is gonna get crunched on the dock someday.

I do think you should put quad trolling motors on the back though, might help her get up on plan a bit quicker.

I was thinking a 5-8hp kicker...WOO-HOO!!

But the quad trollers is way cool too...he'd sink trying to carry all that battery tho. Maybe a REALLY long extension cord...

i like that alot... bet it works alot better than my sit on top kayak. caught a 22" brown trout trolling.(paddling with a rod held between my legs backwards with a baitfish at about 30ft)

the best part about a small craft is that you can get in real close and stealth like to structures to inspect them better and come up with an attack plan for those lunker bass

Very nice. I used to do the same thing to our paddle boat when i was real young to drive up and down the canals in at the beach house. Matter of fact still have the paddle boat but the rudder and paddle wheel was messed up in a hurricane...think i just figured out what to do with my old water wheeler =)

That's awesome. Some of my best days fishing have been out of my Ocean Kayak SOT. Can't go as far as you probably can, but it's very stealthy. And it's got room for beer, which is very very important. I like that little set-up. It's nice fishing in small things like this because you can tell the wife there's no room for her to come along
