Re: OK need advice, here is where we are (Pictures)

You can siphon out the fuel and oil or remove the tanks, you'll probably need to remove the tanks anyway... but that also might be easier to do i9f they're empty.

It's good to see someone jumping into a restoration/repair with enthusiasm and not complaining about how much they're dreading the work or how life is so unfair because they have a rotten boat.

... but slow down a little and study the restorations in this forum first. You can educate yourself and make this job much easier with fewer questions, and you'll know exactly what to do before you do it.

The iboat restoration forum members will be here to help you and answer all of your questions, all we ask is that you post pics of your progress so we can help you better and follow along through one of our favorite pass-times.

It would probably be best not to run any of that old fuel or oil through the motor. Can you disconnect both tanks and remove them? Post a couple of pics of your setup.

Jig it's an I/O so it has an oil pan not an oil tank...well you could get a large foil tray and get it under the motor in the bilge and pull the drain plug in the oil pan.....then suck the old oil out of the pan....the foil pan can be folded up and then opened once you get it under the motor. It's a tough place to work but I have done it.

My 2?...
To drain the gas tank, get a 3/8" fuel hose long enough to go all the way to the bottom of the tank and all the way to a drain bucket just outside the bilge drain hole...Use the bilge drain hole to pass the hose to the drain bucket...

Like this...

If you do it right, this method momentarily pressurizes the tank and when you put the hose in the drain bucket, the fuel will flow into it without having to resort to sucking and swallowing gas or buying any extra stuff...
OR, you can use the bulb that is already there to pump up the fuel system to use as a siphon...

With your old engine oil...you can just drain it into the bilge and let it pour out the bilge drain into a bucket, then just use some old rags to soak up whats left and afterwards use some degreaser to clean up the mess...

Yeah kinda crazy I know, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...
