Photobucket seems to be working ok:

You might add some HDME or cutting board 'runners' to the bottom of your sliding doors under the splashwell, just be sure to countersink the fasteners enough to keep them from digging into the aluminum.

I'm thinking the same thing. Need something in the form of a spacer to let the water flow under the track should it rain in the boat. Great minds think alike!

My Jupiter that never got any action after I bought the 18ft Holiday. I'll be passing the Jupiter along to another Starmadian in a few weeks.

Decided to put the 650 SS on the Holiday for now. However when I went to connect up the steering cable I could not make the angle after it came through the splash well, through the old hole.

I can slide the motor down to the left to get the rod through the tube on the motor but angle through the splash well is just so tight it would eventually cut through the plastic cable casing I'm thinking.

Granted this is not the original cable. This cable is off a Mercruiser. The original cable would never reach the steering tube on the engine (see second photo)

Should I just cut the splash well and cover it up w/ an aluminum plate?

Could you put some door edge guard on the inside of the hole to protect the cable? Then you won't have to cut the splashwell for a temporary fix,

Boot is way distorted too, looks bad. A different motor would have the same problem.

Was thinking I could try a roof boot then to cover up the hack job, if I go that rout. Could go back to the original set up but then I'm drilling ore holes in the transom. They make a roof boot for a 1.25 inch pipe diameter. Trim to fit.

Crap, I keep trying to ad a photo to this post but the darn site keeps giving me error. Getting tired of this real quick.

Are you using the iboats image 'button' or uploading the pix to iboats?

Photobucket seems to be working:

I'm uploading from photobucket. Then attaching by size. Some time it works sometimes it does not.

If use the advance editor and try to use the picture button like I use to do, the page locks up, and looks hazy. It might be my windows 8.1, I don't know. I never had trouble posting before.

I just had an error trying to post this text.

Not my boat, and definitely not my boathouse, Just opened a random folder in my Photobucket acct & grabbed a pix. It may be from a CL ad I posted over in the SC @CL/evil-bay thread, or someone here's boat, I honestly have NO idea where I got it. WISH it was mine. Esp the boathouse.........

Here's another 'random' pix I saved & used lately:

Nice tin!

I decided to just connect the steering as is for now on the Holiday. I had to slide the OB motor way left to get the end through the tilt tube then slide it back. It will be ok for now.

Now I have to find a longer link rod. the link rod I have is 10 1/2" and of course, I need an 11 1/2 inch link rod. Its always something.

I may be going to look at this. http://madison.craigslist.org/boa/4480973492.html

And I talked to a guy about taking a look at one of these, a 59'. It sounds pretty rough but may have some sellable parts.

The $275 SS looks like a BARGAIN! Isn't that what CheapBoatKevin paid for his most recent purchase(over a year ago). BTW where is that guy?

The pix didn't show up again so you're going to look at a 1959 What??

Over in your photobucket acct, copy the IMG code for each pix, paste the code in your post. It looks like this:
IMG]http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/other%20people%20boats%20or%20pix%20info/57ec4e09-c5f0-45bd-a3db-68d5c87c62c2_zps212275d5.jpg[/IMG

And the pix should show up:

This time I got "error _x__ while trying to save" . then I got "There has been a database error, and the current page cannot be displayed. Site staff have been notified." then I had to close my browser because the site was not found. Its random.

What's funny is you not seeing the pictures. when they are there when I read the thread.
Check your filter button.

one more try

Anyone have a older mercury steering drag link rod for trade. I have a 10 1/2 inch, I need a an 11/12 inch (OC bolts minimum). I also some have other parts I could trade.

Nice link rod, has the ball that can be greased with a needle tip.
