Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

Well Naughty,
Would your section be?
I'll have fun while belittleing you and not respecting and distorting your views while being mean in nature then saying it was all a joke.

Not all forums are for banter. Some people are prone to banter all the time.

Your so cool dude, you'll make appologies for offending then get cocked to offend more.

I've said my piece, you're in the correct forum to miss my point......again.

Piece.........ehhh??

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

JB and others,
The reason I started the topic "Boats and Girls" was a tongue in cheek attempt to draw some members away from the Boats and Guns topic. My hope was to compel members to post their humor there in an effort to slow the degradation of member respect for one another in a parallel topic.

I killed it and replaced the subject with "Gone Boating" because it didn't have a chance to get started due to your negative comments.

I believe the administrator is awed by the number of posts to the guns topic, as we all are. Activity is what keeps this site productive and probably why the topic is still up. It has it's funny posts, but it really has been a deterrent to new topics and posts to legitimate topics for that forum.

I got involved in the guns topic at first and soon found out that it was going way beyond boats.
I edited out my content to not be a part of the forthcoming brawl that erupted.

I agree that any forum is more productive when the topics are in their proper place. Sometimes that is also very boring to those of us that are here daily and some humor is welcomed to complete the soup. I belong to other forums and email lists and even though there are disruptions from time to time they serve to re-center the discussions and offer a welcome break in the monotony of the subject.

Boating is for fun, not survival...lets have fun and leave the anger at work!

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

9.9 merc... not starting please help. there, is that better? come on skinny, seems you are taking me wayyyy to seriously. the only pokin i did was to people that were obviously looking for some pokin back. the people who got it played along. the people who didn't... *****ed. i just can't see the problem with a post that attracted that much attention. you guys trying to maintain law and order here must see that people were ready for that post. geez skinny, this is the internet, the rules and guidelines of real life don't apply here. this is the last place on earth we have to be free with our opinions, why are you guys trying to heard us into little sections with strict posting policies. again i say "WHO CARES"!? if all there was to do was read the standard fair "motor won't start?" do you think that 170+ responses would follow? if you don't like what i have to say, don't read or respond. it's that simple. the people on this forum can make up their own minds with you and jb spanking them for responding or posting to a topic that makes YOU squirm. i say CONGRATULATIONS to troll for one of the most interesting and ENTERTAINING posts i have ever seen. bravo dude. to the rest that think i'm just here to insult people... that's just sad.

post another good one guys, life is just to serious not to have fun.

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

I've Noticed that the members who are slamming JB are fairly new on this board. JB is a highly respected and well liked member on this site. He has helped more people on this site than you will ever realize. To Personally slam a persons character or medical condition is not a wise move on this site. JB has alot of friends and I'm a little surprised that other memebers have not responded to your insults directed at JB. May I suggest a more calm approach before you attack someones character or personal Condition. Your views and beliefs are what we are all about here so lets be fair. Their is a time and place for everything so please think before you send.

Hey JB lets go fishing its more fun than this junk................

I second that Gonefishin!!!! This forum sure has changed over the last week, and it's not for the positive. Some of you guy's need to step back and re-think what kind of forum this is. Making rude comments about someone's medical condition is pretty low, I would expect better from members of this forum. I'll leave it at that........hey Gonefishn, is there room for one more.

As one who rode the guns and boats thread all the way, sorry. I won't be involved in that again. Most of us learned a lesson there.

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

Sorry JB, I had to say something once I read the post and followups in question. I for one would have expected something like that on this forum rather than the other. I am all for discussions among ourselves because we all have something in common, a love for boats. By that I mean any and all discussions even ones that brings up strong opinions and emotions as long as folks respect each other. I have never found that to be the case on any discussion board I have ever visited. Personal attacks of a hurtfull nature should never be allowed (sometimes we rib each other in jest). I feel you were wronged and would hope you overlook those that choose to stoop so low. I am not behind you as others have said because that would mean you were a leader and I feel none here lead. I will say you are a respected voice and I will stand beside you in this.

Moose:
I for one will always offer you help if you seek it and I have an answer that might help. I just hope that I don't disregard a question that you may have as just another diatribe.

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

here's what we should do moose, start a hot topic in this section... then those who want can get in on the fun. if we do it here we can't get everyone all upset. then it would be no holes barred trash talkin smack down show me your mamma session. i'd bet a flat of canadian beer that there would be more posters than just you and me.... atleast 3 or 4 anyways.

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

I just wish that half as much effort went into answering the few reasonable questions that I've asked in here this summer as has gone into this argument. Maybe I could have gotten more than 3 weeks of boating in. All of ya, GROW UP!

Re: Off topic nuisance threads.

I'm with you, JB...I find these 'off topic' wanderings tiresome....they are not what I come here for....keep them out of the main forums. They kinda remind me of the loud drunk at the end of the bar, nobody wants to listen to him, but he is hard to ignore....
