Nobody fishing?

A few days ago, buddy took me to a 460 acre private lake and I fished from the bank while he and another friend did some work at the property.

I wasn't expecting much, since it was so hot and the water was only a foot deep at the shoreline.

Nice surprise with this 3.5 pound largemouth!

Not much fish here in the Staten Island area. However NJ has some Blues. Good thing Stryper season is coming, maybe it will change.

First time I hook a Tilapia, I don't know how is called this in english, not common to get one of this with a lure, and yesterday I fished 2 of them, not very fun the rod just felt heavy, no fight at all.
Good experience anyways.

I have not been on for awhile had knee replacement surgery still in the recoup mood hope to be back on the water soon.

Lake trout are hitting like crazy and we have had some decent weather, but I have been dealing with a rotator cuff injury and slammed with other stuff and not able to take the boat out ... grrrrrrr ...

Ouch! I'm going to be getting one of those in the not-too-distant future. I have another ortho appointment tomorrow morning.

Beginning with the cancer surgery / recovery in spring,, catching back up with my customers, general life and I a few weeks shoulder surgery it's just not been much of a boating year for me.

Consider yourself lucky. At least you did not have to deal with laker slime on the floor of the boat. Around here on Lake Ontario, we call lake trout "slimers" and mostly do our best not to catch them. They usually are in the 5 to 20+ pound range and are a last resort for charter boat captains when nothing else wants to bite,because they are almost guaranteed to hit.
I wish you a speedy recovery even if it means that you will go out slimer fishing.

@rolmops , I hear you about the slimers ... kind of the same here. But they are fun to catch and generally easy. Unless I am going to keep them, they are released before ever getting in the boat. I think the smaller ones taste better (1 1/2 - 3 lbers), and those are the ones that I keep if I want to eat any. Keep enough for a meal. Don't freeze them, eat them fresh. My wife, who isn't a big fan of "stronger tasting" fish does like the way I cook the lakers.

If it is bone on bone you need to get it done no fun at first but does get better. I am getting the left one done as soon as this one heals up 100%
I would have not been able to walk or boat at all in the next three years if I did not do this. So life will be good again by next boating season

I had another set of cortisone injections day before yesterday. Massive improvement very quickly. I still need to lose more weight before I can get the surgery. Physical Therapy (PT) would help, but it's a PITA to get through the VA for me. I've done it locally before, but now they require that I get PT done in the main facility, which is a 100+ mile trip for me. Ugh.

I've spoken with folks who have had the knee replacement surgery and several said that I should "do it!" but others have said the opposite. It's my understanding that correctly following up with PT is essential.
