The Smokey Mountains are Literally Smokey from all the wild fires around us. :blue: We need some rain! Or Snow! I'll settle for either!

Yea a whole lot of fires going around here too now. The smoke is back. Can't see the Sun or the Super Moon. I would take some snow. Night temps in the 30s

I saw there are a bunch of fires out there, usually they're out west. Hopefully the skies open up soon......

Yea there are a few wild fires burning in Georgia and the surrounding states. But the news just now talked about those fires are actually good for the land even though the smoke is make some have breathing issue. We do need the rain, and I would take snow. But something wet out of the air is welcome now. But not from birds.

After 39 or 40 days - Finally. Got 1.25" overnight. The bad part is the high winds before the front fanned the flames, especially in Tennessee.

Hope those in E. Tenn are OK.

I know Sigsauer lives in Seveirville just outside Pigeon Forge. I don't know if there are any other iboaters who live near there.

Prayers for the families who lost loved ones, and for all those who have lost homes this close to Christmas.

We have Firefighters from all our local departments there assisting. Prayers for safety for all of the First Responders.

Yesterday we too got some rain. We got 0.16" according to my digital rain gauge. But there is more scheduled for today. We will see. But we also have pretty high winds as well. But if that is the only way to get the rain, I'll take it.

And now tornado watches and warnings. Alabama and Tennessee had it bad overnight with fatalities. Why can't we just have some plain old rain showers?

East Tennessee took a pounding with the wild fires MON and TUES. Monday night's rain actually had bad winds and stoked the fires up - beat Gatlinburg up pretty badly. Tornados and damage in the Mid-State last night too ...

... WOW. We needed the rain bad, but that was a tough way to get it.

Saw Murfreesboro FD was helping with 2 ladder trucks and an Engine Co. South Dakota Hot Shots, and fire departments from around the US helping battle the TN fires. Westgate Resort in Pigeon Forge took a hard hit ... have enjoyed that place a couple times and have some friends that are staying there the end of February (maybe now). Feel bad for all that experienced damage ... hope Sig and his family are okay ... sigsauer, are you okay?

Actually - to the positive side - fire fighters from all over have been helping. A local radio interview this morning spoke on how many agencies are there now working around the clock. Almost wound up on a run myself this morning.

Gatlinburg / Sevierville / Pigeon Forge as I've visited them are in many senses gone. Glad I saw it as it was. But, I'm sure it will come back just as nice - if not nicer. The floods here in Nashville were bad ... but two to five years later they wound up being a boost to our tourism.

Just need to get through the danger and heartbreak first.

Sigsaur has been MIA for quite a while, not sure he'll get the notification.

tnstratofam feel up to trying to touch base w Nick? You had the most recent contact. Hope he and all his extended family nearby are all ok.

My uncles family in Maryville havent been effected, except by smoky, low air quality. But have plenty of friends at risk or that have already lost property...

His newer username is SigSaurP229 after losing his original name. I do hope he and the family are OK since he may have been in the middle of the fires.
