My wife and stepdaughters moved into my house. They had been living in another state. They had a smaller house but four times the property. The school tax was something like 15% of what it is here. The girls were shocked and thrilled about how many more opportunities they had here compared to their old schools (e.g. clubs, advanced classroom equipment, etc.) While just throwing money at the problem isn't a panacea, you have to be able to pay the bills.
