Re: NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

Well, I wasn't able to quickly find a estimate of damage for just New Orleans alone, so I will do the math with what I could find.

From Wikipedia, I got the populations of the gulf coast counties of Louisiana and Mississippi, and the population of Mississippi as a whole. From several different sources I got damage estimates. One estimated Mississippi damage alone to be $125 billion, another estimated the overall damage at $200 billion.

Given these numbers, I would put the damage per capita in the state of Mississippi to be (damage $125 billion/pop 2.8 million=$44,642.86 per capita).

Obviously this number would go way up if you weighted it towards the coast where most of the damage likely was.

If you were to take the coast counties of louisiana and mississippi and the population of NO and use the total figure of $200 billion, it would look like this (damage $200 billion/population 2,618,070=$76392.15 per capita)

Obviously these are rough figures, so let's take the smaller of these and round it down to the nearest ten thousands. that would be $40,000 per capita x population of Gold Beach 1563=total damage to Gold Beach $6.25 million.

Based on this math and your assertions, even taking the rounded down estimate of Mississippi alone, which didn't include a major port city like NO, every man woman and child in Gold Beach would have taken AT LEAST $40,000 in damages from normal weather events EACH year. It's amazing you are all still living there! You all must be some tough hombres, with deep pockets, awesome insurance coverage and serious American grit to take a hit like that in an average year and still stick it out.

No, I think your math is just off...

Little to nothing. Is there a rule about that??

Nope, no rule, but it's typical of this forum lately. A thread is started with a topic and then the subject
suddenly changes two or three times in the middle of it. They all end up sounding like the thread you read a minute ago.

But at the same time, you should know how hard it is to herd cats.... post at your own risk, the Mods are the only final say, and all they can do is vaporize you.

Well, I guess I misjuged you. You obviously don't understand the question Crunch, and you are totally missing my point. Soooooo here it goes, one, more, time.

Hell I'll even answer it for you. NOTHING There, that should keep you from

.

By now you should realize it's better to start your own thread in this forum. You will get a lot more, and better responces to ANY topic you feel burdened to discuss.

But, If you insist on beating this dead horse, you feel free to do so.

Yes RP... nothing... all of the last 20 posts had nothing to do with your basic premise... get over it, or go herd cats... you'll have just as much luck keeping them in line.

Life is a beach.

There's nothing to get over Crunch, and I'm already herding cats, in this thread. Now, put your tail down so the others can follow you back to the litter box you seem to want to dwell in.
